So as some of you may recall, Star Control 1 was actually a bit of a strategy game while Star Control 2 was the action adventure game. We had played around with the idea of merging both concepts into the initial release of Star Control: Origins but decided it would be too messy to try to explain what Star Control was in one fell swoop. So instead, Eternal & Infinite will be released as a future expansion. In EnI you get a sector (100 light years by 100 light years)

With regards to Super Melee. I very much disagree with those who suggest that Super Melee should be first person. I adamantly want Super Melee to be a top-down, arcade like experience, not some sort of sim style.

We intend for the game to include multiple ships per race but only 1 in super Melee. In super melee you will be able to add your own ships with ships made by others and play online with others with them (ranked mp will be limited to official ships only).

Let's talk about Hyperspace for a second. Hyperspace still exists, nothing has changed there. What I want to change is the screen where you're flying in a colored hue. What I'd like to see is something more like Star Control 1. You see the galaxy and can navigate through it but when you travel between systems you're traveling on a galactic map that you can zoom in and out of (I suppose, technically, if you zoomed in close enough it would seem like the old Hypersp

Re Starbases: The Precursor tech folds space. We have no idea how it works but it lets the player move quickly to other ones. This is not true, however, if the Earth starbase which does not have this tech.
