Ok, we did update Fallen Enchantress to fix that spell casting issue. Sorry it took so long!!

There is no way they're going to do this. The Windows UI is so much better than MacOS for actually getting work done.
So now that Elon has acquired Twitter...I wonder how people will feel.
SC2 really was ahead of its time. Just pinging this post because it's the 30th anniversary of SC2 this month.
This month marks the 30th anniversary of the release of Star Control II. Join Stardock, Paul Reiche, Fred Ford, and others later this month for the celebration here on StarControl.Com . We will be releasing some new content for Star Control II fans at the celebration. In me
For me, I was in college in November 1992. I remember the Star Control 2 map. I'll be sharing most of my story on celebration day.
We have some exciting plans this month for the 30th anniversary of Star Control 2.
I am a bit late to the conversation but would the improvements made to have the game up and running on the Xbox also be ported back on PC? I know we've had the opt-in beta for 1.5 on steam, which already improves the game quite a lot and makes it run well on the Steam Deck. But all other PC platforms don't have the option to get that beta branch.
Yes. We are in the process of making both technical fixe
Greetings, best friends! As always seems to be the case, we are way behind schedule. Between the recently announced SINS OF A SOLAR EMPIRE II and the release of Galactic Civilizations IV and a big, unannounced game in development, we have had
Greetings! It's been awhile since we've done an update so I figured it would be a good time to tell you where things are. Star Control: Origins News Before Covid, we had started porting Star Control: Origins over to XBOX One. However, all that went out the window when the pandemic hit since you can't take the kits home and everyone was working from home. However, this past Fall we were able to get restart
We probably won't be doing any more expansions for Star Control: Origins. We have a couple of projects that we're super busy with (one of which is www.galciv4.com ). But once that's done, we're looking at working on the next Star Control sequel.
Hi there. Have there been any developments re PS4/5 port of SCO?
Nothing new to report other than that we are talking to companies to contract to help get the porting done. I actually should know a bit more this week.
I have my fingers crossed for it!
MOM is one of my favorite games but after Star Control, I'd never want to do a game that involves a hard-core established fanbase. While most fans of these classic games (which I'm one of) are great people, experience has shown that there's enough dedicated crazies to make the experience miserable. Someone recently pointed me to some of the Wikipedia articles involving the Star Control dispute and how the super-fans had effectively created a distorted narrative of what actually
We'll take a look.
The lore that exists in the Star Control games is pretty convoluted due to the various splittings of copyrights in the series. It kind of reminds me of some of the Man-Kzin Wars books where Larry Niven has a "Known Space" universe with many others having written Man-Kzin war books and own, presumably the copyrights for their own works. I don't know if Larry Niven ever got into talking about canon in those books. As far as we're concerned, we look at it like this
Awesome!
Greetings! We've created this new sub-forum so people who want to talk about the classic 1990s era Star Control 3 game can do so here.
Thank you for the update. My kids are still waiting for SCO on PS5 (yeah, now it is PS5) [e digicons]:)[/e] Please, share more info, thoughts, ideas, art on the Sequel once you have it. It would also be nice to get some info from TfB if they have anything to share re SC in general. Happy holidays!
Thanks! And Merry Christmas! We have a big old white board filled with ideas. It's Christmas Eve as I write this. 2020 has been a pretty crazy year. Covid has affected us just as it has probably affected many of you. In the case of Star Control, it has put a big crimp in our plans. The roadmap for Star Control is for us to bring the engine to be cross platform between PC, XBOX and PS. The problem is that the project has a single dev kit per platform. Normally this isn't a big deal. But with everyone working at home,
Speaking for myself, I'd like the sequel to have a non-linear story.
What would you like to see in a sequel?
Yea, the Covid stuff has really messed with our ability to do console ports (across the board). Once we are ported to at least one console, we can begin on the sequel.
Glad to hear!
When developing the new Star Control game, we had an opportunity to see how far along the Vulkan and DirectX 12 tech was. The answer, at the time, was not as far as we would have liked. In the end, Star Control: Origins shipped using only DirectX 11 because there just wasn't enough of a difference between DX11 and the new APIs even though the game sure could have benefited, especially on the planet, from the features of DX12 and Vulkan.
