Dan'nath - This is my favorite ship to fly. I rule with it. It FEELS like Star Control. The way it flies, and tilts while it does so is very dynamic feeling. The black hole is friggin cool-looking, and is also very creative - like something only an alien would come up with! Good theme, too - Dan'Nath, masters of gravity, both pulling and pushing. That
Hooray for the Founder's Update! Let's get started on the feedback: You are correct, sir, in that the Super Melee is THE flashiest, most front-and-center part of the game. The one everyone will look at and judge immediately upon viewing, on whether this game is for them. Interest in the nuanced story comes after that, but there's no doubt FIRST impressions will be based on the Super Melee. Even myself - I owned Star Control II for 6 months before even touching the main
@Xiaorai - You are so correct. I feel like Fallout 4 fell into this trap, making a million tools for building. Forgot they still needed to make a compelling game around it...
I don't know... what's the point? It seems more like a "me-too" mechanic, just because everyone has rechargeable shields these days...
Quoting Alverez, reply 4 I want the damned reminders at the bottom center of the screen to go away. It gets even worse. You can get a virus in-game from the Trandals, and the popups start "randomly" appearing.
Sooooooooo

I may be wrong, but if flak cannons are mini explosives that shower an area in metal shards and other debris... in space, would they really be effective? Wouldn't they blow up and then the metal shards would just drift forever outward, littering the entire battlefield in millions of small pieces of fast moving debris? Could be bad news for everybody. But, certainly you don't want the captain to be fighting the Scryve straight away?!? No, we need a different enemy in our immediate regi
I've been wanting to post about your starting Flagship for a while. It's far too OP from the beginning. I would assume this is WiP, bigtime, though. But it still needs to be said, because... Humanity's VERY FIRST FORAY into space (your flagship) is, from-the-get-go, AN ABSOLUTE star-destroyer. Able to keep up with the most incredible ships from empires thousands/millions of years old. It's simply not *dangerous* feeling. Now, I may be the only person on earth who
What? The cruisers in SC2 were self-guiding nukes, too. What is this madness? Same with the flagship, once you added the modules, but I know what your point is now, and I'll respond.
I'd like to preface this with: This is not an inflammatory post, just some casual observation about the current state of dialogue with aliens. I'm certain it's not finished, but would prefer to offer thoughts on the current-state, when it can be molded relatively easily, as opposed to when it's finished and set-in-stone (very hard to change, then). I feel that there's a general lack of exposition in the current build of dialogue. I want you guys to have fun writing these conversations
Hey @Frogboy - thanks for the update! I'm hesitant to immediately jump-for-joy about the Hyperspace update, though I will say it sounds incredibly promising!! My God, just so exciting to leave a system and zoom way out. But I don't know exactly what you mean !!! What do you mean? Does this mean you'll get to fly your ship around in zoomed-out Hyperspace? You certainly alluded to that: "Hyperspace being like traveling in a solar system" - YES!
Does this not have everything to do with money? I had assumed that if we purchased outside of Steam, Steam doesn't get paid, so won't count our review. Is that not right? I thought that's why developers sell the game on their website, instead of on Steam, as well. Because they get the whole profit if it sells on their site, but Steam takes 30% if sold directly through Steam .

Okay, can I just say? I spent the evening playing The Long Journey Home, and....... I hate it with a burning passion. My God. They have an excellent game under there, somehow buried underneath MILES AND MILES of the absolute worst, shit design decisions I've ever seen. Ever. Every MOMENT where you think you might actually enjoy the next five minutes, they make it a point to slap you down with terrible systems, awful menus, insane controls and a general
Well, look at that Brad! You won everybody over, including myself - at the very least, to give it a shot! Nicely done! But uh... maybe we can work on how to present these changes to us in the future??? So we don't have a collective fit? :P hahaha
I don't FULLY agree, I still want to have the ability to take over manual control, however... A response to Brad's discussion of Hyperspace. The initial explanation of removing Hyperspace completely, was apparently confounding to us. I feel like, I don't know, maybe he was trolling us to gauge the reaction, when stating "I murdered Hyperspace"! Or maybe he was just being blunt and honest by explaining it that way, but it was really, really confusing for most people. I actually don't t
I posted this in the game chit-chat as well, but I need to post this here for perpetuity, after reading you're tossing out Hyperspace entirely, all willy-nilly... Please don't. Why? WHY? I heard your arguments for "why", but I don't think it's being thought-through how easy it is to circumvent these "negative steam reviews". Allow me to explain: There is one key thing controls-wise, that sets Star Control apart from the rest of the pack of space games. One v
in simple words, the 1.0 vanilla version must have an epic narrative that will inspire the community.
You know what? That's the number one thing I'm worried about in this whole development. I feel like MAYBE Stardock is more interested in setting up the tools, rather than making an inspiring 1.0 - because if 1.0 isn't THERE, no one's going to be that interested in mods, anyway. My two cents.
To me his was one of the best things about SC2. You are given hints and you could check them out at as you saw fit or totally ignore them. I never felt like I was being forced into a direction, there was a universe to explore and save (if I got around to it). I'll admit that I don't see the modern gamer accepting this sort of thing though. Everyone wants waypoints and big flashing markers telling them exactly w
@DarkGildon - we're in agreement, except for the exact coordinates being given to the player. Don't you find yourself, when playing a modern RPG, just heading straight for the waypoint, without paying much attention to where I'm going or what's going on while I'm getting there, or even what I'm passing up? I did that in Skyrim, Fallout 4, WoW (current day, it used to be much different), Witcher 3, most recently Mass Effect:Andromeda... I just look for my next waypoint,
