Oh, I did play Space Rangers. It was fun for a bit but kind of flat. Things were fun enough, combat wise, to get me through Space Pirates and Zombies. The writing in SPAZ wasn't great either, but it didn't feel as flat as Space Rangers. The visuals at least had more personality, I think. It's hard to imagine Xenoblade X with even faster movement - it's realllly fast, honestly. And I haven't even gott
Just upgraded my PC as well, but I'll probably wait until everything is released in a package for Fallout - I'm currently playing Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin edition for the most part (and a bit of Xenoblade Chronicles X).
I'm holding off on Xenoblade Chronicles X until someone hacks the Wii U and adds cheat codes (memory edits) in to boost movement speed. Xenoblade was fun, but it was e
Hmm... I'm very confused on the feedback. I didn't realize that 8 eyes, 2 arms and 4 legs and a head in the shape of a clamshell was humanoid.
I also hope this alien concept is a reject. It's very nice artwork, as has been the case with all the concept art, but there are just so many forms of life that could exist and I am so tired of the lack of imagination in portraying aliens in games as if the only kinds of fictional spacefaring races must have two arms and two legs with bilateral symmetry and a traditional head.
While I agree with your assessment and ge

Really, just try to imagine it without the beard and it's not very human at all, even if it's "humanoid".
I wasn't talking about the beard. I know that's fake, especially since its hung around the back of his head. It looks like a humanoid alien, sitting on a chair with his elbows o

I LOVE it. I'm a big fan of angular art style. I like the HAL9000 lenses on the headpiece, but the frowny frog at the crest needs to go. Also... I thought they said no humanoids....
Onboard with you until here. Are you meaning something along the lines of 'beat the normal ai to unlock the next difficulty' or having some of our player-character ships be piloted by the ai? I like the first one but I don't see the 2nd option as having a place in SC (or games for that mater, I don't like self-resolving battles.)
I was talking about optionally letting the AI pilot your ships in

One thing I like about Stardock is that they are averse to having their AI cheat. I hope this mantra continues in SCR. Background: In SC1 and SC2, AI piloted ships would do the same amount of damage and consume the same amount of energy as normal ships. The AI setting increased the pilot skill. The ace AI became very skilled at using the secondary ability. For example, an Ace Supox knew how to strafe in between an opponent's firing angles, and an Ace Druug
You aren't being greedy. :) Consider that the window to get this stuff to us this year may have elapsed. I'm on vacation now, and I suspect many of the team members at Stardock are as well. Either we'll see a Christmas surprise, or we won't see anything until mid January.
I'm gonna be honest, I was hoping hyperspace would be a sort of gauntlet arena, with those constant energy bolts firing everywhere. Like the asteroid fields in FTL.
Would those hyperspace squiggles damage you if you weren't in combat? They would have to, I guess. That would be okay, especially if there was an upgrade that blocked them from damaging you.

The worst thing that could happen is that someone figures out that Strawpoll.me votes can be spoofed by changing the host IP or by voting on a cell phone...

It was mentioned that combat will take place in a fixed arena that will be a representation of the solar system. (Multiple planets were confirmed... What about the star?) Will there be a solar system view that is separate from the combat view (ala SC2)? Or will combat take place on the solar system view itself?
