I just had the game CTD during the first election. I am playing as the Activists from BigShot's newest party mod. Didn't have SmartExeption running, so this is all I can give. I will try to re-create, but don;t have time to now. -Dave ~SDC~

I've noticed a lot also, but off the top of my head: Hoth - Icey location of Rebel Base in Empire Strikes Back Severus - I assume of Severus Snape from Harry Potter Algore - Please god, tell me I'm wrong! Fivel - The talking mouse? More LOTR - Gamgee Plus there are a ton of mythological ones (Greek, Norse, and probably others) - Artemis, Zues, Midgard, Aegeus, Achilles If I can think of any more, I'll add them. This is a fun post! -Dave<b

I should mention, although it is fairly obvious, that you need to build the starbase, make all the improvements, and give it to the other race all in the SAME TURN. Otherwise, they might defect before you finish building. FWIW, an added bonus to this is it GREATLY enhances your relationship with the other race. -Dave ~SDC~

What I do to avoid losing my major trading partners/minor races is collect a large amount of constructors in the sector, build a starbase or two loaded with Influence modules, and then give it to the minor race. This seems to stop them from defecting. I also tend to sell/give them influence-related techs and trade goods. Hope this helps... -Dave ~SDC~

The only user-made mods that are not considered cheating are those that are placed in the Library. This is because the folks at Stardock can evaluate these mods to determine 1) if they work correctly and 2) if they preserve the game balance. IF they meet those criterea, they go to library as "approved" user mods. -Dave ~SDC~

In my latest game, I had about 7 sectors between my best cluster of planets, and the Minor Race I was doing most of my trading with. To enhance trade, I built one long continuous line of starbases from my sectors to theirs. Once they had been filled with Econ boosts, I maxed out all of them for ship speed. It was cool, the result was like an Interstellar Highway (I know that it could have been more efficient, but I wanted that solid white line across my mini-map. If waypoints are added to sh

Trade goods are like Wonders that can be traded. They provide certain benefits to your civilization. For example, Diplomatic Translators increase your diplomacy abilites and Aphrodisiac increase your reproductive rate. In addition, you can trade these items to other Civs. You have the exclusive rights, so the Civ to which you trade cannot then trade it to someone else. They are good bargaining chips when trying to trade for techs/money/ships, etc. Hope this helps... -Dave

I mean, of course, on the end of game screen, not on any of the metaverse web page screens. -Dave ~SDC~

So that I know that I'm not nuts, does everyone see a total score, and then, in parentheses, a metaverse score on the Scoring Summary page? Thanks, -Dave ~SDC~

I have also basically given up on submitting games. If they change the scoring, I'd be happy to start submitting again. Until then I'm not going to bother. -Dave ~SDC~

I think that the difficulty level should be the most determining factor in score. If you look at my scores, my lowest scores was a gigantic galaxy against all Genius AIs. There should be NO combination of factors that EVER let a game with all AIs on normal award more points that all AIs on Genius! If the strength of this game is the AI, then the measure of the elite players should be their ability to beat it at its best. I reiterate what I have said in MANY threads: THE SCORING NEED

First, there are plenty of techs after the 4D research. Second, I imagine that you may not have enough money. It costs $3k or somehting to build the terror star. It will also take 4 or 5 more contructors to turn an existing star base into a Terror Star. -Dave ~SDC~

I assume that it takes a turn for starbases to increase your range because of the ay the game calculates movement. It seems like everything (speed, range, etc.) is calculated before the turn, so bonuses do not apply until the next turn. Good examples of this are the starbase and colony range extensions and also the speed bonuses from the starbase modules. You'll notice that you don't get the speed advantage unless that ship begins the turn in the sector with the speed bonus bases. Even ships

Also, what is the calculation that tranforms my Score (in points) to my metaverse score (in mpts)? This is displayed in the overview portion of my Endgame screens. -Dave ~SDC~

Very sorry if these have already been reported, but I don't have time to read the entire thread (sorry to Cari, I know you hate this (:( ) 1. When I take a planet culturally, it often feels as if any morale enhancing building no longer affect the planet's morale. I realize that the distace from the rest of my empire is a factor, but often I build just one building, it takes the morale of a newly acquired planet from 0 or 1 to 100. I image that this is a bug, and it costs me a lot of

Brad, is the speed of victory the most influential part of scoring? I just don;t see how someone can get 5000 for an easy game, when I play against all intelligent or genius and get 1700 and 1100 respectively. I think the difficulty level of the game should be the most important. I see the metaverse as a way for elite players to put up high scores, beginning players to put up low scores, and so on... I do NOT see the merit in a system that rewards people for setting the planet freq

I don't know if it was an oversight in one of the new updates, but the Terraformer problem is back. I looked in the wonders.imp file, and The Terraformer is back to ID 11 (I had previously chagned it to 12). Is anyone else seeing this problem since the newest official update (1.02.036)? -Dave ~SDC~
