Ignore all blue and grey minerals, only worry about picking up green, yellow, and purple. Once your mothership is decently upgraded, start ignoring green and only pick up yellow and purple. You will land on a lot less planets this way, which makes the game go much faster. You'll be able to stay out longer on missions before needing to return to base to sell the full cargo hold, and you'll still have more money than you need. And the most important upgrades are the la

I think the massive $200 million dollar scam that is Star Citizen has made people less willing to support things like this. For $200 million I could make a dozen games, every one of them better than Star Citizen. I think those guys have mostly ruined this form of funding games through their massive Star Citizen con game. The people who make Star Citizen should be facing criminal charges for fraud.

I haven't stopped playing SCO since I downloaded it, very few games draw me in like that. I was hooked right from the beginning, but I had to come post here just so I could be the first person to ever say... I found a rainbow world! ;-)

Actually P&F were very obviously SFB players. SCII was a player created SFU campaign made as an arcade game. I've said enough about this already here and elsewhere, but SFB players have always recognized SCII as an SFB inspired game. This isn't a new issue too us, we liked it for the player created integrated SFU campaign that it was right from the beginning.

"You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe." - Marcus Cole

If we are adding recently deceased friends and acquaintances of founders... Spencer. Josh Spencer died earlier this year, he created the Interstellar Concordium of the Star Fleet Universe. The ISC were the inspiration for the Xindi of Star Trek: Enterprise. As usual with anything touched by the SFU, "It ain't easy being Rodney Dangerfield" and so he never got any credit for that. It would be nice to name a star after him:-) If you skip to 8:30 of this v

I would think for a "boxed limited collectors edition", if you were going to do it, you would want to wait until a lot of DLC/patches had been made. Maybe even as a "final edition" after it's all been done as far as Origins is concerned, anyway.

Does this mean that Trevor Sorensen is going to remake Star Fleet II: Krellan Commander? Starflight was good, but I liked Dr. Sorensen's version better. I'm guessing not... ;-(

With a name like "Strife" all the way on the opposite side of the map from Sol, you should probably make sure that there is something particularly interesting that the player finds/encounters in a place called "Strife". Some players are certain to make reaching that place a priority just because of its name, you should make sure there is something there... anything interesting at all will do.

They could make it so the mothership/flagship thrust "holds" unless you tap reverse, which makes it drop off like the ships in Fleet Battles do. Just on the solar system map, since fights always switch too Fleet Battles where it wouldn't do that. Or, it actually could still work that way for the mother/flagship even in Fleet Battles if you want, I don't think it would make any noticeable difference too the player in a fight anyway.

"You always have to leave the player the option of making a mistake." - Steve Cole Applying this concept in a broad sense, I think it would be a bad idea to have a "click on a planet/moon to fly too it" in the solar system. Flying around the solar systems is a big part of the immersion of Star Control. If you take that away, players will become bored with the game pretty quickly. It will turn the exploration side of the game into a series of mouse clicks instead of "

The fact that a cell phone is a tracking device is one of the main reasons that I never had any interest in having one. Today it has become even worse. You can be certain that the NSA has the power to listen too you and everything going on around you through your phones microphone. They would also have the capability to look through your phone camera to see what they can see through it. There is no chance at all that they would not have this capability by now, they can

I like the "Xtails" thing. A very long time ago I made a mod of a BBS door game called "Usurper". It was a little more harsh than your Xtails, but the same concept. The two most expensive things in the store were a "Thingamgig" and a "Whatchamacallit". Neither of them actually did anything. It was so funny too me!

[quote who="Kazriko" reply="40" id="3717645"] TradeWars 2002 was similar, the game went for a certain amount of time and eventually would be reset. It was a common thing in those sorts of games. If Bionic was being honest in his demands for answers he would have read about that. But his interest in "discussion" was only to attempt to feed
