All I want to say is, Stardock, if you're in a position to help keep Ghosts safe, please do so. If you're in a position to damage Ghosts, please don't do so.
Other than having been nothing but supportive, we're not involved in it. But we also don't appreciate the implication in their post that somehow we are keeping them from making their game. Heck, we'd even let them use our engine if that helped.

A public PR battle is not going to help anyone. The lawyers will find out what, exactly is their issue. Their post is all over the place and seems a general rant about the Accolade agreement which, obviously, we weren’t involved in. The SC 1/2 IP is very messy. We don’t want to be involved with it. But there does need to be a legal document to clean it up so that we never have to be involved with it. Them suggesting that we are trying to stop their game in
Hi Brad. What the HELL are they talking about?? i really dont trust them, coming out just in time when your game is out in beta, and they got nothing to show - where were they last 20 years? https://dogarandkazon.squarespace.com/blog/2017/12/1/there-were-many-great-battles-and-some-of-them-involved-lawyers
I read that this evening too.&nbs
This post: https://dogarandkazon.squarespace.com/blog/2017/12/1/there-were-many-great-battles-and-some-of-them-involved-lawyers was forwarded on to me. Which is very odd and contrary to the spirit to the correspondence we've had with Paul and Fred for the past 4 years and would have been better handled if they would have let the lawyers work it o
This is a great discussion. One impression I keep getting is that many people have t actually played the old super melee recently. My love for all things Star Control is well known. However, I also do t have the luxury of nostalgia colored glasses. There were some great ships and some not great ships. There were some exciting battles and there were some grindingly dull battles. Players will shortly be able to create their own arenas, including wrapping. But I doubt most players

This is excellent.
So good. SO GOOD. Regarding audio and such. We switched to a new audio system literally a week before the beta (it was supposed to be finished a month previously but it took longer than expected). So most of the audio isn't in yet. Asteroids are not going to cause damage going forward. Agreed about the excessively wiggling. What was supposed to be subtle turned into "Hey look what we can do!". We're toning it down.
Great feedback! IF player generated universes fail you still end up with a Star Control II style game with new adventures and universes created by Stardock. It’s not like we are going to release the game and disappear. ;)
The November's Vault entry has been added. It's a little early but I think you'll like it. https://www.starcontrol.com/vault
Mmm. Amiga!
The ships aren’t supposed to be balanced for each other. Some ships are supposed to hard counter other ships.
Usenet was better than any of this.
So what do you think? The New Measured: OR The old measured (and these were in the game so it was...expensive to replace them). I only br
You can look at the icon on the left now to tell if there are new posts. If there aren't, there's no icon. We're working on updating the design to provide better (but still cleaner) ways of getting the info you're asking.
My definition of humanoids has gotten broader since I joined the project. been dong a lot of humanoid murderin.
I'd say the Mowlings are humanoid still. I'd also say the Scryve would count as humanoid-ish. The Measured.
I'm not going to try quoting the post. But I will let you guys know something cool and off-topic: I took the feedback and pasted it in Word. Then I saved it as a PDF and then put it on my new Kindle Oasis which is waterproof and read it in my pool. We are living in the future my friends.
I used the steam key to register Star Control Beta in Steam and is listed in my game library but I cannot download the files. I get no install option. It is listed as purchased.
When you run it, it should open the launcher. I don't suppose either of you could post a screenshot of what you see?
I look forward to seeing your thoughts!
The slingshot allows the slower ships to catch faster ships. Right now most of the ships go the same speed, if they wind up with a greater difference in speeds the maps with a slingshot at the center are an advantage for slower ships.
er. The ships most certainly don’t go the same speed.
Awesome! There is a bug with the designs ships whee they don't have full inertia. It'll be fixed in the next beta update.
The weapons of the ships of SCO were not randomly chosen. I mean, come on, the Pkunk used to gain energy from insulting the player and had a random chance of a Hallalejua respawn. In SCO, each ship's weapons are based on the background of each race. As I am the one designing the ships and weapons for each ship, I think I can say I have a strong understanding of how they're supposed to relate. But I think instead of playing SCO this weekend you should go back and
Between our maps and the ones the community will create, I would imagine there will be hundreds if not thousands of maps before the game even ships. What I want to see is what happens when someone tries to stuff an entire solar system into a single map.
