I like forums myself and enjoy reading the questions because it makes one think about the game again from the pov of someone totally new to the series. Very valuable stuff.
I play at 5K. I wonder if it’s a wide screen thing? Try turning off full screen and see if more options show up.
Yea, I think a frame rate limiter might address that for users looking to conserve power.
Any news on when the 1.1 patch is planned ?
No definitive dates yet. There’s going to be a 1.02. Bc MP is working really well at this point it might go up on test before 1.1.
You might have to manufacture your population. ‘The filthy, filthy biologicals reproduce on their own. Disgusting. But Synthetics are built (as is proper and civilized). Check the project options on the left of the screen.
Just a head’s up that in 1.0 this was changed to next.
Bumping this so that the team sees your great feedback.
I’ll ask the team. First we will have to see how many people play mp at all.
Solved. The Trillian IM application hooked something GalCiv 4 really hated. Shutting down the application resolved the issue. I will see if I can find what setting / feature specifically breaks things, if I can.
That’s pretty impressive you were able to troubleshoot that. I can’t imagine how the two would conflict.
Not currently. There is http://wiki.Stardock.com thst might help. I think it would be a good idea to have a link to it from game: http://wiki.galciv.com
You don’t lose it. It remains. Think of the improvements as additions to the benefits of the tile.
The robot shows up on the left side of the screen when there’s something new to show.
I fiddled with things a bit, and i finally got the tab button to appear- apparently, you MUST have a ship queued up in the shipyard (how do I get the shipyard to idle?) and you can't skip any tasks that are brought up.
This is correct. This is something fairly common in turn based 4X games now to prevent new players from accidentally forgetting to do an important task.
The upgrades require various techs to unlock.
Military starbases will automatically attack enemies that enter its area of control Quetion - will just the starbase itself attack, or will a fleet posted at the military starbase (if any) also participate in the attack? Or will that fleet only defend the starbse from direct attack?
Only the starbase will. Being able to f
Yea, decay is something g in the GalCiv games that should probsbly be explained better for newcomers. It’s the amount of a given Resource you will lose due to the distance between where it is produced and where it will end up. First introduced in GalCiv II.
You can’t. Once they’re given command they are in command.
Sandbox mode for mp is planned for 1.1.
Yes, that’s what I mean. Missiles, beam, and mass driver ranged attacks to anything in its area of effect. there are modules thst buff friendly ships already/
It’s a lot easier to play GalCiv IV tall than any previous version imo.
And so here we are.
We are looking at giving them two abilities: 1. Auto attack any enemies in their area of effect with a % of their stats. 2. Automatically protect any planets and colonies in their area of effect. Because frankly, I totally agree with you guys.
My pleasure. I looked into it more and I think more balancing still needs to be done there. When players get placed fairly closed together you can end up with some unsatisfying results.
It's a Razer Huntsman Elite, US English, nothing weird about it I know about.
That's what I have. V2. Red switches. So now we definitely have a mystery here.
