Thanks for a quick update on the issue [e digicons]:)[/e] Do you actually know when can we expect such update?
Once the team comes up for air they're going to start testing it.

With Galactic Civilizations IV now generally available it’s time to talk about…THE FUTURE. First, we’re really glad you guys seem to like the game. Releasing a game, especially one where people have been working on for years, is, as you can imagine, very stressful. This is doubly true when the game tries out so many new things. Below is a very tentative roadmap of what we expect to release and in what order. This is all subject to change ba
As for conquering undefended colony worlds, I agree that a tiny ship should not be allowed to capture a colony world. I suggest that, at the very least, a small hull should be a prerequisite for these captures. Or you could require the attacker to have a minimum number of logistics points in the attacking fleet - say 4+.
I'd like to see something that the player can build to easily defend
This has been mentioned before, but I would like to be able to minimize the triple-choice pop-up screen that occurs when an event or colonization appears. As the choices affect the Ideology Point acquisition and distribution, this would allow users to check their current Ideology Point distribution before making the event choice.
This is coming. They had tried it during beta but it created a bunch of Zorde
Yea, now that MP is looking pretty solid, the sandbox will go back.
Yeah. Last game I ended up with 20 survey ships, and that was after I decommissioned a few.
I’m jealous.
I think you should definitely be able to give gifts to governors. I do that in CK3. There are planetary improvements like the gov office that bump this I believe.
Definitely a learning curve. While GC2 is easier, keep in mind that was a pre-chick (fancy tooltip) game. GC4 has tooltips and nested tooltips if you hold shift down/
Yea, the stories, plots stuff came pretty late in development. We weren’t sure people would like them so the team played it safe. In 1.0 a ton of new ones got added that are related to your governors. One thought is to make an actual quest editor and then allow people and make their own stories and events to share.
Thanks. And yes, Bucholz did a lot of the writing. And Riku from Star Control 2 did a lot of the music.
There’s just so much text in and we keep adding more events. Now with release we will be sending it,out to translation. We really should do a poll on what language should be first. Any preference on what should be the first language?
This is good to know. We should probably make this a support FAQ.
Yea, give. Thst I frequently lose on Normal. Probsbly not a good first experience,if normal was default.
We’re you able to get 1.0?
Thanks. Yea and this is really just the beginning.
This is a good observation. I’ll pass it in.
Yea, when you see the battle reports now it feels a lot better than it did in the early betas. One change we want to add are modules and techs that increase accuracy so that the floor of the roll is raised.
I think the current plan is to add German, French, Russian and Spanish first.
I am pretty sure that regardless of setting a good planet is placed in a nearby system for each player. I’ll ask.
You can definitely see the influence on the Terran Alliance ships.
Is there anything…unusual about your keyboard? Is this a US English keyboard?
We’re going to post a roadmap shortly.
Yes, I,personally like seeing the grid in my territory when I zoom out.
I’m not sure if events should be the source of replay ability. But I know the team has plans to keep adding events as time goes by.
Even if one agreed with what you wrote (which I don’t), it wouldn’t justify a 5 out of 10 in IGN. We can quibble about whether the game should have more map configuration options or whether the combat should have some different mechanic, these are, speaking as someone who’s been doing this for 30 years, debates that argue between a 75 and 80. That particular reviewer just doesn’t like GalCiv games. I only know that because he literally says so. He wanted
