Just wondering... Isn't there any way to completely delete a character in ones account? I did not see any option for that.

At present there is no way for users to delete their characters. There's really no reason if you think about it. If you would like to clear your character's scores, you can. And if you want to rename your character, you can. So the only reason to really delete a character would be to free up a character slot, which doesnt much matter, as you'll only ever have three available right now.

If you've come up with a reason to delete a character that we havent yet though of, please do let us know. Email [email protected] and they will forward it on to the proper channels.

I have a '+' in my user name, and can't log on to the metaverse, because the metaverse login screen won't accept '+' as a character.

I am fine with the way it is now - I already had the redundant characters name changed to "DELETED"... Looks a bit messy, but so does everything else on my computer ...

Im new and when i try to join an empire, it freases, its pissing me off, how can I join an empire?

ahsura the hegehog - I'm afraid that I will need more detail to address the issue you are seeing. Also, if you are running Firefox, please make sure that you have the latest stable version (1.5.0.1) as the metaverse website only supports that version of firefox and IE (no opera support).

Once again when I finish a game, the next click takes me back to the Main Menu without allowing me to submit the score to the Metaverse. This appears to be an intermittant problem at your end as I noticed that several other folks are having the same problem. I have checked and I know that I am connected to the Metaverse, so it MUST be a glitch at your end.

This has nothing to do with serial numbers. This is the second time it has happened. Could you please fix it and/or tell me what is causing this.

KL Stafford - This issue would be better directed at the game team, because it is an in-game functionality issue. Please send a report of your problem along with any details you supply and attach a copy of the debug file (located in the game's directory) to [email protected] amd CC [email protected].

"Favorite Race"
What's the formula that determines it?

At this time, it shows my Favorite Race as Drengin. Why? How?

I only had one game as Drengin (almost a month ago), 6 year, Large galaxy, Painful level, and it was a Defeat (low score).

1) It can’t be based on the number of games played as a given race. I only played as Drengin once.

2) It can’t be based on time spend as a given race. I have only spent 6yr as Drengin. But there are a 9yr Yor game, a 8yr Torian, a 7yr Altarian, etc.

3) It can’t be based on Galaxy Size. Large for my Drengin game, but Gigantic for my Krox, Torian, Human games.

4) It can’t be based on Difficulty Level. That Drengin game was at Painful level. While other games (as other race) were at Crippling, Masochistic level (lately).

5) It can’t be based on Win-Lose result (score). It was a Defeat (low score) for my Drengin game, but I have 2 other Defeats (Darth, Human) as well. And more than twice of victories (higher scores).

6) It can’t be a combined result of factor 1 through 5 since 6yr-Large-Painful-Defeat just don’t add-up to 8yr-Giganitc-Crippling-Victory (Torian), or even 6yr-Huge-Painful-Victory (Arcean).

So… how? What’s the method that determines “Favorite Race?”
Could someone at Stardock help me with this question?

OK, I've hit the Metaverse button to start my game, finished it and it asked me if I want to submit my score to the Metaverse. I said yes and I got an error 12 - my serial number did not match the server. So I figured no big deal since I have two because I got the download and a CD sent to me. So I exit, update my serial and reload the EndGameSave. When I go to post to the Metaverse, I get the same error. So I open SDC and have it e-mail me my serials. I go through the same thing two more times, update and then reload and try to submit. Copying and pasting so I can't screw up zeroes and o's. Same error all around. I do have a Metaverse character and my login and password work. I also tried it again on different days to see if it could be a server error. I tried again with a new game in case it was a corrupted file. I sent an e-mail to Stardock a couple of weeks ago and haven't gotten any reply.

Any ideas?

I have a problem of not beening able to create a character.

The message I got is "invalid serial number, or the serial hasn't been activated".

I think I figured mine out. I started a tiny map making sure that my download serial was the one on the game before I began. This time it posted when I finished. My problem on my other games may have been that my other serial number was attached to the game before I started them. When posting didn't work, I would switch and reload the EndGameSave. Maybe the serial is locked to the game at the game start up. Anyway, mine is working now.

I try everyday since i got the game which was a few days a go, to see if i can create a character and still it comes with 'invalid serial number, or the serial number hasn't been activated'. i would really like to play online but i cant because i have to create a character which when i try it dosn't let me. What can i do? .

Xeno - Log into Stardock Central and have it resend your registration information. That should send you the correct serial number. If you do not have Stardock Central or do not wish to install it, please contact [email protected].

I tried to submit my first Metaverse game yesterday, but when I finished, I had error message 11, something about serial numbers not matching or something.

I patched my game to 1.0X with SDC, and didn't have any problems then. However I ran into problems with SDC and my antivirus, so I uninstalled SDC and patched to 1.1 with a manual download, with no further problems. I haven't had any problems with serial numbers up to this point. I haven't patched to 1.11 yet, because I was waiting to finish my last game. Could that be relevant?

Is there any place to check/change what my online serial number is registered as (without using SDC), because I can't find it...

On another note, it might be nice if there was a list of known problems/solutions in the first post of this thread. I'm sure someone else has had this problem before, but I gave up looking after the first page when I didn't find anything relating to my problem.

Well, here's my problem

before installing Galciv2 i was able to come and go to this websight as i pleased, but after installation i am unable to go anywhere at all. i get to the first screen at www.galciv2.com and after that any link i click it says page cannot be displayed, and gives me that online message saying something like: websight may be having technical difficulties, or i may need to adjust my browser settings

it's not the websight since i'm on it currently on it (on another older, and much much slower computer) and i doubt it's the browser, since i can get to any of the other sights but i'ma go check that out anyway

Anyone else havin this problem, or had it before? plz let me know

I can't see that we're having any issues with www.galciv2.com at the moment. If you can reproduce these issues please let us know by copying the message exactly and listing on what pages that you're seeing these issues on. Please post this information in a new thread in the proper forum.

I am a Senator for the Paradox Empire, yet when I go to View My Empire or Edit Empire from my account screen I get prompted to create a new empire.

How do I access the functions of the Empire I am in?
Things like accepting a a character for membership?
