Alright, no worries. Maybe there's not enough common things to talk about - we are simply such a diverse crowd?! More unity and background is required. Bring on the old myths and stories. Some kind of rally and call to arms would sure be nice though. We seem to have a large and competent member base so building on from that could eventually produce a much higher ranking :d ~SDC~

Still with us, lo and behold. Where's the action though?! Is it really true our logo can not be improved? The Jedi seem to have succeeded with it, how couldnt we? Is animation possible? Little more shine and glimmer wouldnt hurt ;)
And how's the EURO FORCE doing now? Where's the action?! Is it really true our logo can not be improved? The Jedi seem to have succeeded with it, how couldnt we? Is animation possible? Little more shine and glimmer in those stars wouldnt hurt ;) [Message Edited]

Top marks Theoden, that rank is best ignored. This is another great reason to join the Fellowship actually... to ensure those guys wont ever win ;) Heh heh ... so now my days must be counted!
Well this is cool....but also tougher than any single game decision! Too many options out there!!! :sniff!: :sniff!: Whats most likely to happen now is that I'll keep swapping names to no end for a while now.....very sorry for that...at least you been warned. Cant make mind up on the real question either, not just yet. The Fellowship members have been absolutely tremendous contributors and helpers all over the place here. Simply for that reason alone one should always seriously con
Hmmm, sounds like I simply need to play some more and wish for the best. Just being unlucky I guess, or simply missing the action as I havent had too many ships out in my recent culture games anyway. Finish game before Battleships are out - that is quite an achievement:CONGRAT: Would be great to know the quickest games out there for each level and galaxy size. [Message Edited]
How about allowing upload of a little player graphic too? Scale it down to 96x96 or smaller for regular citizens...and maybe allowing more estate for Veterans and higher ranks. ~SDC~
Yes I'm definitely interested many thanks. My current alignment hasnt been too active recently so the thought has come to mind I have to confess. Joining ranks with a Higher Purpose and Motivation would be way cool indeed :d ( By the way - renaming player erases all the current scores right? Or is there some other trick to it? My current handle is kind of low profile and far from anything decent in the aspiring Fellowship league...but if renaming means losing all your scores so far t
Sounds terrific to me. This game is a little rough in places, but has huge potential too no question about it. Can we truly make it happen? Add Metaverse subscription option to generate the funding required? One critical factor would need to be top service level requirement so we can all trust it and get any problems quickly and reliably resolved. ~SDC~
Just 6 Maso players out there?! That is too lame to be true >:( Very curious how can you see that fact also... We need more Maso players for sure. It can be done, and what a buzz it gives to beat the AI at the highest setting. Well, at least for the vain myself. A Maso guide is in order perhaps. GREAT INFO by the way....many thanks again Ray ~SDC~
Dont have any past experience with this one...but when I tried to follow the advice now it didnt seem to work. ~SDC~
Starting a new thread on how to make Metaverse better. I was thinking it would be good to add some simple features that would make Metaverse more meaningful and encouraging for all new players. Things like: - Best Rookie - Top Ten First Submissions - Top Ten Players this month (or week) - Add some special credits and honours on the Player detail page. "This player was ranked XXX highest in [type of game] last month". It would basically try to scan and find the best relative
I believe it already has. To my great surprise and delight, spotted the shrinkwrap in PC Superstore, Joensuu F inland, early July already. Now, surely, that is about as remote as you can get, as far as Galciv sightings go anyway, right?! [Message Edited]
Another option for timeout is to have the AI complete the turn for you. Have the player nominate which AI is their deputy during any absence or network lag. Maybe, and best of all, you could even program it a little bit on how it should behave in the typical situations. [Message Edited]
Real time is definitely the way to do it. Chess is HUGE on the net these days...and after all its fundamentally very similar turn based setup too. Each turn would need to be completed in X minutes. The participants should be given the option to decide how long that is when starting the game. If somebody missed their turn, they would simply time out and the turn would be made anyway. No big deal really, its only a game after all. If not happy with your position, just
Cant help but another WIBNI coming to mind here: Positive Impact Aliens . Some weird and wonderful creatures that when you meet them they boost your planet, starbase, or trade route. Maybe get one of these helpers only if playing good. Maybe as a result of an earlier UP vote. [Message Edited]
Very interesting ideas :) If it becomes too easy to exploit this, maybe just having a list of things you could chose from, or voted on, would be cool. Would make it easier too because the AI side would not need much tinkering or reprogramming for this to happen. Hey, this could even be two levels always. First, we all vote what topic we are voting on this year, then comes the actual vote. How about that? More frequent UP meets would help also.
Wow sounds cool. Do they take starbases down also? How can you get rid of them, or do they just disappear eventually?
Clicking the Fist icon under relations, I can see all the AI is in war with Space Sharks and Pirates. Who are these guys?? Havent seen any of them in my games yet (:( We once got the prison ourbreak but unfortunately those guys did not show up either. Do these attractions really exist in the current version?! Or does it need to be some much later year first before they appear? By the way, would be great if these minor wars were also somehow indicated in the Treat
Yes that makes lots of sense actually. Maybe staying away from some of the more expensive projects (fusion power etc) on lesser planets would have helped too.
Any comments how the OVERALL economics play out by the way? Reason I am asking is that we had a very different outcome in the last two tiny games (Rare and Abundant). Exactly the same starting abilities but they played out very differently money wise. In the rare we were flooded with cash, breaking +5000bc easy, and finding it difficult to spend enough (100% all the time). In the abundant, it was almost complete opposite, just hanging in there barely, -500bc balance and affordi
Nightmare level would be lovely wouldnt it. For starters, no Save button. It would only autosave every so months (eg every 6 turns). All the easy to fix cheese would be eliminated. The AI would be strong and MENACING. The Ultimate GalCiv Challenge as we all know and love it would be back again :HOT: :HOT: :HOT: [Message Edited]
Plenty of reload cheese out there for takers. Maybe well covered elsewhere already. Here's one less well known perhaps. When you catch any diplo increase (tech but trade good in particular), save and load to have that added during the same turn. Same true for Star Dem and many other improvements (but not ship speed). Note that DTTG is also easiest to catch fresh: same turn the announcement of AI or Minor having reached it pops up. Looks like they get it added next turn also (?). <b
Reporting back from the Tiny Abundant 60% culture experience. Was not any easier I tell you. This went down much quicker but there was more planets to manage so it turned out to be about the same play effort than Rare. We took about all the cheese we could find but still the AI put up a remarkable resistance. With abundant and little luck on their side too, the AI can move really fast, and with us wasting time colonizing, the AI got quite a jump start on Techs. We were playing catching up on tha
