Having a "Zero Player" option is on the roadmap albeit for internal testing/benchmarking reasons. Its something we may consider opening up to players as well as kinda a spectator mode.
Okay, I love the gameplay. It feels super smooth. Although something about the sounds is bothering me. They're either too quiet or just right. And 90% of the time, they're too quiet and so I gotta constantly glance to the right side of my screen to see if I even delt damage or the bullet was just outta range. It's weird. Although I'll give em credit for the ship creator. As it's about as freeform as you can possibly get with such a thing. Amazing work on that. Anot
SCO isn't recognizing my gamepad. I checked and it is still working fine in Mortal Kombat. I would also want thrust to be forward D-Pad and break/reverse to be back D-Pad, not buttons.
What brand is the gamepad? You can remap the controller inputs. Go to Options > Controls. Click the input to remap and then controller button. Sorry to hear about your trouble updating your drivers.&nbs
This build doesn't like my computer, it is crashing a lot, so I haven't played it much yet. But I will keep trying to play it. I am loving this! But it's definitely not what the audience is expecting of Star Control. Not that there is any big problem, but just like in the original Space Wars the gravity well at the center needs to be an option, or the gravity nee
Thinking about this more... since the fast player knows the map will shrink, and it will be harder for them to win once it does, simply the threat of the map shrinking will make them want to engage and destroy the enemy before the map begins to steadily shrink down into a boxing ring. You might wind up being to find a balance in this where the threat of the map shrinking solves the problem to the point that it rarely ever gets to that

I can press W to thrust and use the mouse buttons to use the weapons/abilities but the A and D keys do NOT rotate the ship. Kind of hard to play without the ability to rotate. I tried other keys as well and my ship will NOT rotate.
This is very odd.
Thanks for the introduction, Patrick. I'd welcome some regular interaction with Stardock in more of an officially moderated capacity. Brad's updates are great, but it will nice to have another voice providing some community interaction on a more regular basis.
Yup. We plan on be more active in the new year.
Definitely not crickets. We have 11 inches of snow on the ground here and they're all dead now :) But the team is nice and toasty and still busy at work here.
We're not interested in the tech. We're interested in the promised development process which we paid for and get subatomic snippets of. Sorry for being blunt, but the founder's program isn't living up to the promise in my eyes.
One of my goals for the New Year is to get you all more involved with the process.
Hello! I am Patrick Shaw and I recently joined the Star Control team as a producer. I thought I'd drop by and introduce myself before the holiday. I've been working at Stardock for a little over a year now on GalCiv3, Escalation, and Political Machine. But my industry experience goes back almost 18 years. Let's start off with some ice-breakers: <p style="padding-left:
