V0.69 Update 11/14
Hey Folks!
Please check out the latest changes to gameplay and bug fixes below:
Gameplay
- Homing missile damage reduced from 15 to 12
- Homing missile max turn rate reduced from 120 to 30
- Gravity field system has different physics at 10% of the planet's radius to simulate the magnetic field of planets. The effect is that ships are more likely to not hit the planet.
- Slight HP increase based.
- Gravity exponent reduced from 1 to 0.75 power
- Balance pass on weapon modules and hull sizes.
- Changed the custom hull sizes to better match the sizes of the core ships.
- New bullet for Scryve Scout (now purple, lasts a little longer, doesn't have as fast of a firing rate)
- Player 2 now will always have purple engine trails. Because nothing says "bad guy" like purple energy.
- Modders! We've moved all projectile/beam blueprints out of the ship xml files and into the big projectile/beam file. Otherwise, weapons and components are tied to specific ships which is a bad thing(tm).
MP
- Peer now sees the host's ship explosions
- Fixed a rare case where the camera would be locked at the start of match.
- Fixed several cases where sound weren't be played on the peer
UI
- Renamed Super Melee to "Fleet Battles"
- Game play select screen: Renamed "Friends" to "Custom match"
- Fleet Setup: Press "start" on a controller will now start a match
- Increased font size on the Melee HUD
- In single player, you can select your ship or surrender using the controller.
- Implemented a "Give Feedback" button on the main menu that links to the Star Control forums
- Sound balance updates to ship weapons
- Set default audio levels to 50% when Settings.ini not found
Bugs
- (updated 11/15) Fixed a problem that would cause the turn animation to glitch on the peer in multiplayer
- Fixed an issue where if you named a fleet, it would save it as the old and new name together
- Matches will not start until both the player and enemy ship are loaded. Previously, the match would go for a few seconds with invisible ships.
- Another fix to prevent particles from stacking up while pausing the game or going to the crafting menu.
- The AI will no longer fly around while you're picking your ship.
