(Side issue: it would be really appreciated if running the game in the default resolution didn't rearrange all the browser / discord / GOG windows on my desktop) Edit: Before starting, I also turned off virus scanning and disabled the local firewall. We found the problem and will have a fix out this week.
We have a fix that for this going out this week.
That's a fun one. We're looking into it.
Thanks for the report. I've asked our designer to look at this and fix asap.
Hello, I just wanted to let you know we are putting up an opt-in today that reduces the time to get to the main menu for non-ssd drives. We are still working on reducing the new/load game times.
We are aware of a problem with corrupted saves breaking saving and loading. We expect to have a fix for that out soon. Fivetad is correct on the workaround: Disable steam cloud saves (if you have it enabled) Go to your "saves" directory Similar to this: C:\Users\pshaw\Documents\My Games\Star Control\Save Delete your auto
So, if I open up the display options and change my resolution... do I get new content? (If I don't get new content, then Stardock missed a golden opportunity to drop an easter egg on us)
Sorry but I'm not following you. Can you explain a bit more?
Please keep the feedback coming!
Thanks for the feedback!
Hey folks, Another quick patch before a larger patch that we have scheduled for later this week: The Alien Contact achievements now work as intended. We'll have another soon patch that will immediately retroactively award to it existing games so you don't have to re-visit everyone. But they should unlock now when you visit an alien. Made a small graphics adjustment to improve stability on higher end graphics cards.
Pshaw, is this pre patch compatible? I restarted a new game this morning and I am not too far but I'd hate to restart again.
Yes. You do not need a new game for these changes.
Sorry that you are having trouble. We are looking into the issue now.
More info: On initial load, the game spends a long time on the splash screen with the "blue circle" cursor before the movie starts By alt-tabbing after the main game screen came up, I managed to get into a situation where Star Control is running in a corner of my display and I can still see the rest of the display. When I move my cursor into
Just like when I first got Star Control 2, I spent most of the day playing yesterday. The experience is great and I love the game. EXCEPT... When I'm travelling through Hyperspace, and I have a destination plugged in, ANY interruption kicks me out of the navigation route (including, I believe, opening my menu) and I have to go back and figure out what star I'm going to and plug it back in. Normally, this would be just a nuisance, but last night it happen
Could we go back to SC2 functionality for planetary navigation? It's minor, but I'm SUPER ANNOYED by this. I fly to a planet. I enter planetary orbit. I do stuff. I leave planetary orbit and I'm facing the wrong way! I pretty much have to turn my ship around EVERY SINGLE TIME to go to the next planet. And can we enter planetary orbit by touching the planet's center instead of the edge? Some of these planets and m
I have a "Crash on startup" problem to report. I managed to find a solution too. I did not have my documents folder mapped to the default path "C:\Users\ * \Documents", and then the game failed to generate the folder or files under "My Games". No settings.ini or error logs etc. In my case this was resolved by resetting the path to default. Maybe add this to the troubleshooter and/or look into why. Please PM me
Hello, Glad to hear that so many people are enjoying the game. We have a quick game balance update for you based on your feedback: Nerfed the Scryve Cruiser that you encounter after helping the Tywom a bit Planet class balance pass to discourage pointless landings. Worthless planets are now more obviously worthless to discourage new players from trying to pointlessly "grind". Lander and ship cargo values increased to reduce the number of times the playe

Sorry those notes snuck in from the "full" version of the game. Those ships aren't different in the chapter one build.
