Wow. I've NEVER seen that before. I guess my four 1.44mb floppy disks couldn't hold such an incredible CG video!

Budget was stated to be $5mil - they only need like 100,000 sales to make the budget back. That said, I don't think the $35 price point will stay. It'll go up to $49.99, methinks. +DLC Although, I really want Stardock to be careful - because if you've been reading comments on all the sites reporting on Star Control Origins after the floodgates opened today, there's MANY people who have been turned off by Stardock's expansions and DLCs in the past.
oh my Lord, I can't even keep up with my current subscriptions with all these new posters!
Welcome!!! Exciting to see new faces on here! Yeay!
So, would you pronounce it: Voll-ooh-shan-us?
It's one of the highlights of my month, each month! I think our appetite for consumption will never be sated. But if we have even a small effect and see our suggestions, no matter how small, implemented in a game we end up loving, I think we'll all be Stardock fans for life! So glad to have this opportunity!
Name's Matt, commonly known as my poorly translated from Italian online-handle Cuorebrave lmao... and uh... I have far too much time on my hands, but making SCO a success is more important than any stinky "work".
[quote who="HenriHakl" reply="35" id="3654376"] In the end it only took 3 hours to download; excellent result. The video itself is lovely. 1. I fully support cuorebrave's suggestion for a customized Stardock logo. Not necessarily a change in hue; but something that is playful and personalizes the logo to the StarControl universe. Perhaps start with the original as it is currently, then instead of the tech-fadeout that is used, morph it to something remniscent of
INTERNETSSSSSS - starts panting and drooling uncontrollably. But no, I guess you're right. You're like that tough love father that makes his kids EARN his love! Hahaha

Oh, what?? Who wants little people symbols? Lol, that would look a little silly. The crew dots were perfect.

Well, well, well... I leave for 3 or 4 days and come back to find this! Nice move, Stardock! Middle-of-the-month, right on time ;) Well, without further ado, let's jump right in. There's no way this is a trailer for... the MASS public, right? RIGHT? I mean, it's cool and juicy for us all, specifically, but I feel it would probably be a little underwhelming for the general populace. No real WOW moments included. Maybe if you frame it as a pre-alpha, VERY EARLY video

Did Brad tweet one of your writeups?! That is EXCELLENT, Hunam. Way to go!
You shouldn't patronize him about that. I feel his pain. Probably, you do too.
Seveneves blew up the moon immediately, if that counts. Also, doesn't the Death Star blow up a planet pretty quickly? Or the new Death Star in the new Star Wars? They're always blowin' up planets... And dang, man! I wanna hear about your story! You keep dangling it in front of us like a juicy carrot!
Yeah, but if it's happened often enough to "work every time" - do we really want to retread that same old story line? How about something less Star Warsy? I think what the mycon did was equally devastating and not such a common trope, right? What else can you come up with, Kavik?
Thank you, Island Dog. Thread closed.
Breath of fresh air, Volusianus. Thank you. I was a part of Starbound Early Access, but that's mostly it. That community had literal hundreds of people posting constantly about every aspect of the game, coming up with new ideas, sharing experiences and thoughts. Sure there was complaining, but it wasn't so... petty. It was usually about game features, etc. And the horde of people on there actually WANTED to comment on the game's various aspects. Even still, the gam
Lol, it's just so, so, so, so soooo stupid. What a great experience this could be. Like, I've been around the entire world, visited 14 countries, lived in Italy and Cancun, gotten married abroad, had three kids and all the crazy cool experiences that stuff provides - yet, THIS - having actual input on the followup to the game that shaped me the most, should be one of the coolest, most fun things of my life. I imagined getting on here every day with hundreds of other adoring fa
^ In this post, I'll explain that it doesn't MATTER if nobody posts anything anymore, to the pinned posts. They were exceptionally thoughtful posts, filled with good insight at the time. Things have changed since, you know, the June update, so while it's not relevant to talk about anyMORE, the developers themselves can weed out all the other inconsequential posts that get talked about on here, ad nauseam... and instead, go back and refer to the QUALITY posts that people have spent
^ Here's the full details of my previous post: I just went back and read all the pinned posts and many of them are very important, and loaded with good ideas. I posted in all of them, so the date is updated to today's date, and hopefully they won't die. (My next post will have thoughts on how ludicrous of me that was)
