I think the proposed plan is wonderful. Especially if each Season pass gets its own unique name, like Earth Rising.

I've tried the mouse buttons and just randomly trying keys and I can't figure it out. I don't know if I'm missing something obvious or not.
Quoting SWVRoma, reply 84 Why do people keep saying the Mmrnhrm are Precursor-made? Everything in SC2 (and I believe 3) said the Mother Ark was sent by an unknown culture/race and it was theorized that they were the vanguard of that race's colonization efforts.
If this is a separate universe from the original StarCon series then i don't see why any of the original aliens would be included, unless they have inter-dimensional capabilities (Arilou, Orz?).
I'm old enough to be partial to the SC1 races and still view the SC2 additions as "new," so even the Melnorme and Taalo don't scratch that "originals" itch for me. I'd enjoy seeing the Chenjesu , even if just a random encounter or two, as they were the one of the oldest and earliest races in the Alliance and must be relatively nearby. Since they're not embroiled in the Ur-Quan conflict in this universe, there's no need to f
It might be a little early for the Mycon, but that DOES present an interesting scenario. It's possible that the corruption of the Mycon didn't occur until closer to the beginning of the original Ur-Quan conflict. How cool would it be to find mostly normally functioning Mycon out in space? Or even free Deep Children? Maybe the Origins Mycon coexist with their Deep Children? There's a lot of cool ways to play with this.
The races I'd love to see make an appearance would have to be... (In order of importance) The Taalo The Drall The Utwig The Slylandro Definitely the Mycon The Lk But if I have to pick one? Taalo by far.
The problem is that the latency is abysmal and unpredictable atm. In normal circumstances, my ping is ~48 or so, but the lag is almost unplayable right now, 800-1k minimum.

If you're looking for suggestions for making planetary encounters more exciting, there was a system for ship repairs in Heat Signature I found particularly fun. Instead of the standard "wave your virtual wrench and fix the thing!" system we've come to know over the years, instead, it just gives you a series of meters that typically only last a few seconds. These have fun labels like "Oxygen injector glowing an unusual color!" or "Fuel pump bulging!". BUT NONE OF THAT IS IMPORTANT! The
Game resolution would be helpful as well, since inches means different distances at different resolutions.
Yeah, the small hull is currently really ridiculous. With max engines and thrusters, I made one earlier that was able to spawn dozens of contagions and just kite for days. I dunno how well it would fare in the era of the asteroid ring, though. It was made before the ring was introduced.
The best experience I've had with gamepads for PC gaming is the PS4 controller with a micro usb cable, hands down.
That's probably just latency, because mine are instantly available.
The Contagion are not fighters, though. They're new Pinthi hosts, iirc, so it makes sense that they're independent. It's not so much a carrier as an amoeba.
Synths aren't playable or present in the game as far as we know. It's not up to me what their dialogue screen shows. We have several canon races that have multiple phenotypes that aren't a problem (Drenkend, Trandals). They only want scrap and Precursor scrap. That's it, that's their entire motive, and while it's shallow, I don't think it's necessarily out of place for Star Control. They're willing to acquire it peacefully through trade, but they are shrewd negotia
The secondary could be a "space scoop". So the ship would have some kind of big opening at it's front. In the lore you could say that it has some type of "gravity wave" that draws nearby things into the "scoop". This makes some kind of vague sense as a means of collecting almost anything (like asteroids, nebula, ship debris, etc)... as long as you don't think it through too much[e digicons]:)[/e] [/
On Discord this evening, Frogboy suggested that he wants ideas for a scavenger race that the newly proposed Scavenger ship belongs to: (Brad) "The art team hates me. Because it means we'll ahve to add a new ship. That scavenges. So you guys need to come up with a new race." So as a result, I've come up with a rough submission to fill this scavenger
It's not that screenwrap was confusing or difficult to understand in its original iteration in SC2, it's that Stardock's implementation of the same system was unintuitive in SCO's engine. I can only speak for myself, but there was no consistency in screenwrap warping in SCO compared to SC2/UQM/SC1. There were several other Founders that felt this way, but I'm not going to speak for them.
It's not a boss ship, though. It's just a special ability for a regular ship.
I don't like the boxing ring just because I feel like that makes it feel too gamey and arbitrary. The player has to be convinced it's not a game. I think Brad was still wanting to experiment with multiple planetary bodies? (unless that got nixed).
Keep in mind that this is something Brad has said is non-negotiable. Ie we won't convince him that screenwrap should stay, so it's probably better to put more effort into discussing other solutions.
As you all know, I'm a huge defender of Star Control canon, both in terms of lore and mechanics. There are some elements of Star Control that are inalienable parts of the formula that make it great. However, I feel like Screenwrapping (ie the mechanic in which a ship leaves one side of the screen and appears on the other side relative to where they exited), is not only outdated, it's incredibly awkward mechanically. I should note that I've been working on a Star Control/Space War-like
If the time scale is slow enough, you don't need turns. Paradox does this very well.
