If you purchased the game you can post over on the Steam forums for an invite to the first chapter. They have basically been letting anyone who wants to play it play it. it is only about 30 min of game play and only in the Sol System... but it gives one a good feel of the game.
I think you are taking "required" too literally here, which is why you may have trouble understanding this. There is not a court somewhere saying "thou shalt restore the Arilou in SCO". [e digicons]:)[/e] Instead, I believe it's some rather basic game theory around being prepared for future legal arguments that could come up. Pure hypothetical here: Let's say that P&F release a game containing th
I like it. Still say the game needs more nekkid chicks, though. [e digicons];)[/e]
not certain why you would want a bunch of baby chickens in a space game ;P The hot space elf trope is so overdone I actually hope they don't make use of it... now something that finds the captain(player) to be uber attractive and thus makes an effort to hit them with awkward innuen

"Break this in all the ways a user might" is the bestest thing ever... provided the feedback is actually used to improve the product.
Yes. So SCO has about 3X the budget that GalCiv III had. That’s because SCO can be brought to consoles while GalCiv realistically cannot. The biggest dev difference is that Star Control is designed to be easily extensible. Anyone here could make their own Star Control adventure without needing source code. Sadly DJashdj the mac version is more in Apple's Court than Stardocks. Apple is pushing the Metal API for graphics and ending support for all others, including OpenGL. As the Engine for StarControl uses the Vulkan API (which is supported by Microsoft, AMD, Nvidia, Playstation, Xbox etc but NOT Apple) the only way to run it on an apple is to do some sort of Windows Emulation of duel booting. Any modern graphics card will run Vulca
What will be interesting is to see if we meet our goal for SCO to be a MSORPG (massively single player Online game) in the sense that players who want to solve some of the more challenging missions will likely need to talk to others online.
there are guides on how to do stuff on really simple mobile app games. The metric of online "cheat" guides will not be a good judge of your succ

as I've said in a few other locations, I work with a company that does software design/sql implementations.... As someone familiar with revision testing that software goes through and how stressful deadlines and what not are I just have to say that Brad and the Stardock team spoil us fans. You spoil us. The amount of extra customer touch points you create honestly boggles my mind. Thank you for being so... willing to talk to your fans and even you

Brad, can you just ignore the rabble-rousers and focus on posting stuff in the catch all question thread that you created earlier in the month. this topic is a dead horse. Honestly I'm shocked you've not just locked this entire thread as it does nothing productive for Stardock. I'm excited for the new game. I want that news... not more rehashing about some fan project's fears of being shut down....

Snorts.... Bionic... you are just a delight to read. You basically took the words out of my mouth. In Mass Effect 2 the planet exploration was a means to the end and that was it. From what i've seen in SCO the planet landings are going to be part of the fun and the challenge of the game. yes they still get you the resources, but they
Im fine with it as an option that is not on by default, but if it was the default like it was. That had me unnessarily scrolling through a lot of planets for most of my game, because i would turn it on when most of my planets were fully upgraded by my tech level. Remember my empire go through stages in the beginning almost always dont have a lot of resources. The problem with governors is that i dont use them. I prefer to play the g

Maybe it only works on massive maps when the computer is working slower though.

Seconded. Just build an algorithm that follows the following logic. Project If upgrades to existing Improvements available >=1 Then stop when finished Else Repeat Else if Available planet improvement spaces >=1 Then stop when fishished Else Repeat Then the AI wouldn't get hung up repeating them foreve
