I am always biased towards more SC, so I choose second expansion, then sequel. If that makes the sequel come out a few years later I am OK with that. I think a lot of people are hoping for a lot of stuff to do after defeating the Scryve. Also, if you don't have much stuff going on after the main quest I think a lot of fans and reviewers will complain that a possible time skip from SCO to the sequel would skip over a lot of interesting stuff. Also if yo

You're not convinced? Did you read the judgement of the copyright office in the first post in this thread? They said only source code and audiovisual material (art assets) are copyrightable not game design. Stardock did not steal SC source code and Stardock did not steal or exactly copy audiovisual material from SC. I agree that red hyperspace looks very similar on the surface, but it is different. Same game design but DIFFERENT art assets.
I hope that the DMCA counter notice scares P&F enough that the DMCA is reversed within those 10 days. 10 days off of Steam might be short enough that damages are negligible and those Stardock employees can be rehired. If that doesn't happen I hope there is NO out of court settlement, the trademark to SC is found to NOT have reverted from Atari to P&F because Atari made that <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Control#Star_Control_(Atari)_Flash_game
Chill Kavik please. Don't forget SpaceWar! was a big influence on SC as well. Maybe SFB contributed the idea of unique ships with multiple weapons.
P&F claim they own copyrights in SC3 (see the document in Frogboy's post)?! NOOOOOOOOOO! I wish this was a case where the claim is so ridiculous that the judge could throw it out immediately, like when Jim Sterling was sued for millions of dollars for a negative review of Slaughtering Grounds. I hope Steam and GOG pursue monetary compensation for this block of SCO sales and that Stardock gets a cut of that.
Thanks. Also I'm not sure but the Free Trandals may have disappeared.
Also sometimes when I shoot the lander stun gun it does no damage to enemies and I can't eliminate them. Also the Pinthi officer no longer heals my lander crew I checked my flagship is losing crew after away missions.
My lexite quest is stuck. It is stuck at I investigated 82. G Eridani II and does not tell me what to do next. When I looked in the Steam Guides for what to do next, this is the result: Yalos in the Rasalhague A system (I visited and I don't remember if there was an anomaly at Yalos, but visiting it did not progress the quest did not get Eta Llvoren working) Epsilon Mus II (antenna already active) Eta Llvoren (planets are in the system but no anomalies
If you did not choose the Trandals hyperdrive when allying with the Trandals, is there a way to get enough hyperdrives to create every colony? Maybe being able to buy a Trandals hyperdrive at a precursor starbase?
I noticed the v1.1 update added the System Scanner to the modules list. I went to https://starcontrolorigins.gamepedia.com/System_Scanner and it did not explain how it works. I know I can easily pick up a system scanner anytime because it unlocks at the Sol Precursor Starbase, but I have a question: Does the System Scanner miss some anomalies or does it label every planet or system tha
I just noticed that the Tywom Star Trek fanfic is very similar to the original Mary Sue fanfic "A Trekkie's Tale" starring Mary Sue. Just read the first paragraphs of both. http://web.archive.org/web/20050208104838/www.fortunecity.com/rivendell/dark/1000/marysue.htm
Homeworld Mission 3 the burning of Kharak ("the subject (a captured enemy that destroyed their planet) did not survive interrogation" said in that classic Homeworld understated professional tone) and the Homeworld Kadeshi (they were left behind and became scavengers and that eventually became their religion, in contrast to the Kharak main character race's pro-science and technology views) Nebula missions. Those were added in last minute by the people who went on to make Homeworld Catacl
There is plenty of space to get heat or toxic protection once you reach endgame where (spoilers):
1 Stun gun, 1 Anti Gravity Thruster, 1 heat shield mk3, 1 or 2 corrosion protection mk2, and 1 atmospheric stabilizer is all you need. Total: 5 or 6 and you could add lander cargo space optionally, which does all fit on your ship.
But it would be nice to also have space to add the lander combat modules too (spoilers):
(armor, crew, and supe
You really need the Anti-Gravity Thrusters to jump over canyons, etc. Things are really OK after that. However it might be nice to have more lander module slots because I run out of space and never use lander armor or lander engine supercharger.
It worked fine for me, so long as I intercepted the Xraki before they get close to Earth. I think it's an automatic fail if the Xraki get too close to Earth.
You can't have a Mu'Kay ship in your fleet when talking to the Greegrox or they say they won't talk to murderers.
I don't know about the Tywom, but (spoilers)
you need to learn how to talk to the Greegrox (talk to their homeworld) then let the Mu'Kay know for the Mu'Kay to realize they are sentient and stop eating them.
Please also let us store minerals at Star Control, once we upgrade it by spending some RUs. I don't want to carry around an entire rainbow world's worth of purple resources or make a special trip to the rainbow world and try to guess which purple resource glowing thing on the rainbow world is the one I need right now for the quest. It is impossible to tell purple resources apart they all look the same until you collect them, right?
How would resources be randomized? Different planet types have different resource amounts and types, so the planet types would have to be randomized as well. I prefer no randomization, just like Star Control 2, so subsequent playthroughs can be much shorter because you know where everything is so you can skip the boring stuff.
You claim the game is unfinished. Wait for the expansions to come out. It's what I do for most games because I want to play it only once and not have to play again to get all the content. After the additional content the ratings should go up.
There are Lander Crew pods and Lander Armor to prevent you being oneshotted and the Lander Stun Shot can oneshot drones. Also drones do not respawn, so if you kill some drones but take heavy damage you can just leave and come back with full crew. With all that Landers are balanced for current challenges, but I hope will be able to become more powerful in future DLC.
In the SCO Codex it explains that a disaster on Mars that killed colonists cut back the space program after that. I accept that the game needs the space program to not be too advanced, so I don't want anything changed, but I actually think it is more likely that we will have a large presence in space than have a singularity (full artificial general intelligence) in the next few decades. But I love how the Singularity was used in SCO. I know about Vernor Vinge's graph pr
I agree there should be a storage facility at Sol. The wiki gives the data about the weapons but yeah maybe that should be in the game. Right now you can make custom markers in certain colors and name them on the star map. It's enough to label homeworlds, colonies (for refueling), etc.
There could be text adventures on planets and in space like the King Arthur the Roleplaying Wargame.
jump doesn't work most of the time because of gaps or cracks in the terrain
Trying to get across canyons using only boost (shift key) without jump (spacebar), that is actually mostly possible but hard. But if you buy the Anti-Gravity Thrusters lander module on the flagship, which you activate by pressing spacebar when flying the lander sure you can't jump over mountains sometimes but I am always able to jump over cracks. I have been to worlds
