^ More to say - I can't wait to be weirded out. Wasn't it one of the best things ever when playing SC?.. The pincers-armed miner slug instantly reminded me of f'ed up (in a good weird way) Silent Hill creatures. I'm glad it was discarded though, 'cause it was a pretty lazy design and didn't look like a space-faring alien at all. The "drooler" though looks interesting, but probably way too offensive if you know what I mean (S.H.?).....
Unzervalt. It's a tall order to imitate what SC2 is and be original about it IMO. Let's wait and see what SD has up their sleeves for us.
Double post. P.S. I hate this forum buttons.
That's right. Tywom is already being secretly hated by many. XD But again, not all the aliens need to be amazingly mind-blowing (Mukay). What turns my stomach with Tywom is 3d connexxion space pilot and logitech gameboard on his belly. [e digicons]:puke:[/e] I absolutely agree that scrapped Thrax art looks fantastic. UI in that picture looks great. Perfect colors. Love the font. Thrasher looks impeccable looks and idea-wise (to my understanding it's literally a melee sh
Okay. Then they will need to add a lot more items to the game to make this interesting. Ala Diablo ? I guess so long as crafting is not required to progress the story, perhaps after the storyline is complete, the crafting exploring aspect is something players can enjoy. <br /
I'm against items crafting. I'd rather explore and find/trade/complete quest/kick ass for that "plasmotronic rail gun" than grind and farm for numerous hours to craft it.
^ Agreed with the last 3 posts. Shouldn't be much trouble to program as everything is 3D. Blow a head up here, lengthen the legs there, move computers around - should feel like talking to a different person. I wanna say that fonts per alien will be unique since subtitled speech is already confirmed.
Quoting Hunam_, reply 78 Yeah, cool for one planet. Otherwise, it's rather boring and unmemorable. The same goes for the three planets that stardock relesed Hunam, so your point is realy moot. Of course it is only memrable as a single
Well, that's why we're here. BTW, not everything is being negatively critiqued. I, for one, like the new planets. Good thing I didn't play Spore after animal stage... I don't know if you guys checked the vault out, but there's hyperspace ringtone added. Very similar to SC2 hyperspace track. Although, if that is the final new SC hyperspace music, than it's very underwhelming. It feels like an overly long intro to an actual hyperspace track. Also, as much as I like SC2 hyperspace music, I'd rather hear something new in new SC. [e digicons]:|[/e]
Yeah, cool for one planet. Otherwise, it's rather boring and unmemorable.
But to play devil's advocate, I can see that exaggerated visual, for better or for worse, would make the game go faster than having to scan all those worlds all the time.
Keep in mind the game will probably have dozens times more star systems than SC2. You wanna get in, scan, skin, get out.
Yeah, but how do we procreate with robots?
^ We know nothing of it yet. I'd assume there will be some restrictions, so you can't name your planet Duckasick. I can't wait myself to stamp my last name or my home city on one of the new SC planets. How sick would it be to show it off? [e digicons]B)[/e]
It's hard to comment if wrap-around is still better than what SD came up with, 'cause we don't know what it is yet. All we know is that battles will be happening within a star system, not around singular planet. I'm too concerned with no wrap-around and fast vs slow ship, but again, we haven't seen anything regarding melee yet. I suspect ship's abilities will be compensating for its drawbacks and it'll all be "balanced" in the end. [e digicons]:snowma
^ I'm strongly against multiple ships per race for various reasons. Two of the main being: The striking ships difference makes races unique and distinctive. If you're gonna make multiple ships per race - it'll turn into a massive blob of unoriginal mediocrity. Labor and time involved in creation and balancing multiple ships isn't worth it gameplay-wise.
Oh, baby. Kreygasm
^ Great idea.. for the one who wants to play notepad simulator....
Vault got updated. j/k
Am I alone in hoping the Tywom don't make it into the game in their current incarnation? It just doesn't seem like an incredibly detailed and beautiful creature like the other, squid-like race *name withheld*. There's nothing inspiring or intriguing about it, and almost no detail. I was expecting the conversation-screens to be much more detailed than that...
^ As much as I'd like to have it, I'd rather go quality over the quantity.
^ That is correct. I'd rather make notes on paper if I wanna make notes. If anything, it'd be cool for the game to keep a searchable Personal Diary type of events log. Ex.: Dec 2 2015. Left Sol in Gamma Pegasus direction. Had to slow down to fight off a pack of annoying Tywom. Need to visit their homeplanet (coord.: 4234,6351) to sign cease fire. Dec 7 2015. Somebody peed in my cereal again. Spaced sous chef. (-1 crew) No other not
I like the wormhole idea for potential expansions and DLCs, but meanwhile, something like this should do it for me:
