^ could be anything. I don't disagree. From business stand point, you wanna satisfy all your customers. So, you include as many ending as you can. " I won by exterminating all the aliens. Humans now rule the galaxy. We can live in peace, under my thumb. " This can absolutely be one of the "win" endings if devs are willing so. It just doesn't correlate with reality too much IMO.
That is a lot easier to do in an open game than a story driven one like an adventure game like star control. It would be nearly impossible to do truly well in a story driven game since it would basically require a whole different story for each different type of character you wanted to support.
Maybe it's time for devs to get off their @sses and work it out? Maybe it's ti

^ you can win with any path you've taken. You're misreading the diagram. The last choice that you need to make if you chose "renegade" option (orange & red) should be the one that leads to "yellow" win. This is your only chance to "win" in presented example. By "Fail" I mean a legitimate game ending where you don't get an usual "game over" screen 'cause your ship blew up, but an ending story showing what and how you failed exactly. What I don't want is

I'm slightly concerned with this issue since ME was brutally butchered by the last 5 minutes of the game. The questions are: a) will we have categorically different multiple (at least 3) endings? b ) will there be fail ending(s)? (SC2 had it in a form of an ugly time limit) c) will it be banal good vs evil or something interesting?.. (like ME, but not entirely like SC2) Here's an example of a main quest tree: [img]http://s

Topic #3: Lore Update Since this is a reboot, the game will take place before the events of the original Star Control 1. Without giving too much away, something happens in 2085 leading the Humans to form Star Control to begin exploring space and making contact with alien worlds. The story will unfold from there. From October 2015 update. Any ideas on what it is? Reap
Not a fan of pattern based playing. I believe in adaptive engagement. The AI should learn to change its tactics once a certain number of like ships have been destroyed by the player.
I don't think SD has resources for THAT kinda AI. Besides, SC doesn't even need it.

It's not the quest nature that's bad, it's the realization of it. Picking up something that you never gonna need/use and bringing it to somebody else for RU or XP is truly lazy programming and boring feat to accomplish. But when you, for example, fetching a vaccine from one race to another and use it as a bargaining chip to get what you want or decide to keep it for yourself for future and/or other reasons is preeeetttttttty goooood... Also, the example of O

^ Why do you say 8 eyes? I see either 4 or 10. 4 in the mask slit + 4 big HAL eyes + 2 small HAL eyes. Wait, you say that's not a mask, but a part of the face? Nice one! I'm starting to like this augmented robomage. BEEP BOOP "I WILL PURGE YOU ALL WITH FIRE, HUMEN FROM EARP!!" XD So, you're saying we, possibly, could get a blue 5 titty space babe even if she's tripodal?... I'm excited! [e digicons][/e]

I think it's imperative to consider biology, lore and ability to space travel together when creating space-faring alien looks. It'd probably make sense for the artists to create alien home-worlds first and then aliens themselves. But that, probably, is already irrelevant at this point. P.S. Just finished listening to the new hyperspace track for the tenth time. Great sounds used in it. Less intense than original and a lot more mellow which makes your pumped up e

That alien looks like sci-fi'ified archmage or some kinda patriarch. Pretty boring design TBH. Probably another rejected concept. Hyperspace track is an obvious rehash of original with unexplainable repeatable pauses and still is very underwhelming. I'd rate it strong 5/10. Will most likely replace it with something better like Awkbird's remix if it's a final version.
