Good day Stardock folks! I am not sure who to ask this of, and I haven't gotten a response to my PM about it. Here goes: **************** It is with the greatest respect for your company and works that I ask the following: May I have a refund of the founder program cost and be let out? In light of the news that this will not be the actual sequel to SC2, I feel mislead. Additionally, It has bee
Just spice up the lore with some cataclysmic event (Utwig bomb detonation?) rippling through space-time continuum resulting in multiple realities. UQM2 can then be a direct story sequel as Paul and Fred hopefully intended ("that, my children, is an entirely different story").
THIS! Great idea. I've hoped from the beginning that there would be direct references and tie ins to SC2, even if you can't
In SC2 it always bugged me that I'd waltz into a system and be greeted by a concentric ring parade. It took away from the feeling that I was in SPACE. Are orbits really that important anyway?
Seeing as Jeff is a machine his name should involve modem sounds or other electronic noise
Actually, that's a GREAT idea!!!! Paging Frogboy!!! That would reduce the campiness of it a tiny bit, which is just enough campiness reduction for ole Maogan the Melnorme.
Thanks for the info, Brad! Next month is the second anniversary of me waiting and hoping for that beta key and SUPER MELEE! All I can say is, "About time!" *With nothing but love*
And there I was campaigning to change PhAmYsHt to Famished...
Crud. I forgot about that too....grrr. No silly names! :)
I notice a grid underlaying the combat area. Is that intended to be a final release feature? Even in the short clips I've seen so far, it's quite distracting. The originals didn't need a grid, and I don't think this one will either. In the same vein, any chance you'll do something more subtle on planet orbits than a complete solid circle? Perhaps do a feint comet-trail that extends back from planets and moons across 45 or 60 degrees of their orbit...th
In everything you've posted so far to the vault, and in updates, there's only one thing that really gives me pause. Jeff. That breaks the 4th wall I have with this project. Any chance you could change the name to Jeph or something? I completely get what you're trying to do with the funny name pun, but it really messes with my head. Having some big powerful alien with the name Jeff is odd to me. Spell it fun
Haven't posted in a while, but I lurk. I am surprised by the amount of human-ish meatbags that might be present in the universe. I too was under the impression that it was undesirable to have more than a few. To be perfectly honest, except for the Syreen (hubba hubba - I was 12) I don't remember ANY of the humanoid aliens when I think back to SC2. I think of Spathi, Ur Quan, Mycon, Zoq Fot Piq, Melnorm, and Orz. Totally anecdotal
Thanks for saying so, Brad. It doesn't always feel like it from this end, but I'm glad we're helping!! I still am SOOOOO eager to get my hands on something I can play with. Sometimes I almost forget there's going to be a complete game on the other side of this project too....gotta remember that!!! :)
And I don't mean this to sound rude, but it's really not Stardock's fault you don't want to use Discord. I don't either, but since I want news I suck it up.
No worries. I'm social media averse, that's all. Glad to hear I'm not the only one not hearing much. After being promised more of an uptick after GalCiv Crusade and actually hearing less, it was a bit confusing and dis
(Disclaimer: If this isn't the right place, feel free to delete this post or move it) I signed up on November of 2015 to be a founder. In that time I've tried to help by providing commentary on the monthly updates, dutifully reading/looking/listening to each component. It was fun and interesting. Then keys finally started going out. I patiently waited to be selected, even when I was told it would not be fun, but rather choppy technical stuff needing
Request sent. Craig Patterson reporting for duty! (Drat! Forget you know my secret identity!) Are there best-times-of-day to get info/be helpful? I'm CST.
Hmmm. I was going to say 3-4, but then I read that most everyone already said that. Now I want to be original, and say 3.5. In all seriousness, it's cool to see a consensus! I do want to know more than the average bear about what is going on because I'm a founder, and I paid you a good deal of disposable income to be a part of this project. As for caching your pipline, I hear pipelines are getting approved faster these da
Smooth zoom is the way to go. No disruption in the player's ability to calculate and control the ship. Snapping would involve more recalculation. I loved the zoom in SC2. It was a great way to deal with the ships. (And was a fun way to find if you were getting close to the cloaked Ilwrath!)
Dynamic would be good, but can you have both and let people choose? 1v1 please. I can't figure out how 3v3 computer controlled will really add anything to my experience. 1v1 showcases ships so well! I like the suggestion others have had to start wide angle, then change to the dynamic That is all.
Frogboy, I just saw you read this! I must say, I sometimes doubt, but now I'm happy!!!
Glad to help!!! Keep shoveling good info our way and we'll keep going through it. :)
Better late than never... Thoughts on the September Update Reading down the PDF from top to bottom, my thoughts are as follows: Alpha Centauri III UI screenshot – Love the look so far! Orange is a prominent color in this. Will the final c
What link? I can't find anything.
I too echo the OPs questions. I'd love to have some small say in what my world is like, since I named it after my newborn. Don't want him stuck with a hell-planet or something. :)
Named mine after my newborn boy. Samuels Rest.
Bringing it back to the topic at hand, Halcyon6 is apparently a multi-stage game...what I thought was the game was only the first chapter...and it was BRUTAL! Now I'm stuck in up to my eyeballs in new content, and it scares me! (like SC2 did, in a good way!!! I fear losing because it's so obvious that I will, and yet.......... ...... .... .. .)
I like everyone, and only comment when it's about the topic at hand. Therefore, I would dig more frequent updates too, and would feel more useful if they were provided. That is all. :)
I'm playing it right now. Done about 10 hours in 2 days. Lots of fun, but it's getting repetative really fast too. The exploration is much shallower than it appears. In fact, most of the game is shallower than it appears, but that's not all bad. There's much less to keep track of, so you can drop in and out pretty easily. It is rife with humor and inside jokes, an I do like that! The Chruul spawning rate is a massive difficulty curve, ev
