You know what will happen if there is no enough economic stability due to unemployment. Emigration. Emigration of workers to places they can find work in their field or similar field that has better benefits then being unemployed in their current countries. Or that takes less effort then re-specializing in their own countries to get the job position. This already happened for centuries and still happens. Why do you think people risked their lives to get to America, instead of

I'm still puzzled how last year revival came with estimate of game being done in 2nd half of 2017. I just can't see it finished before second half of 2018.

Well SC:O would just have 7 Precursor starbases or something total and only have travel between them. You would still need to manually travel to locations between them. So nothing lost compared to SC2 quasi-space travel. Same concepts different flavor.

Fast travel was a reason why SC2 exploring was fun. You did not need to spend minutes and minutes to get anywhere with nothing happening. Same for lack of late game need for resource gathering. It speeds up the late game just at the right moment when that feature starts being repetitive.

There is good infinite replayability: 4X strategy games for example And then there is bad replayability: like drag out sandbox like RPGs, that boast with 100h+ play time but have shallow experience, due to padded fetch quests and gridning. Some think they are replayable due to being so large and full of "conent" and being open world so you can do suff in any order. But in fact, they are boring slugfest due to all this. In regards to RPGs, I would always take shorter focused en

By the way, what's the deal with some updates including content that was already released in previous updates? In this case, it is the music. All tracks were already part of some of the previous updates. And this is not the first time that this happened.
The one thing I have mixed feelings about are the shadows: http://screencast.com/t/JRhchSGAkh05 We have them in here but there is the possibility they could get cut in order to make our hardware requirement objective (they're not fully developed at this stage so we will know within the next few months whether we can do this). Not sure how many people will care about this or not. That

Sorry for bumping this, but I must say that public version this trailer is what made me become Founder, and actually get hyped for new Star Control game. So it hit exactly as it should. At least for me. So good work Stardock! And hyperspace remix is awesome. And is now a public download, not only in the Vault. Thus, looking into importing it in Ur-Quan Masters for my personal playthrough.

Here is the idea. When some sort of time limit passes, have space combat map dynamically start to shrink slowly. After some time, ships will be forced to engage eventually.
Even though Paul Reiche isn't involved in SCR, maybe SD could honor him with some Archon-inspired ships: Name: Knight (aka Zot-Fot-Pik Stinger) Velocity: Medium Acceleration: Medium Turning Rate: Fast Primary Weapon: Sword - short range high damage physical attack Secondary Weapon: Shield - brings up a limited range directional barri

When primary weapon is activated the ship splits in half and high intensity laser is activated between the two halves. The longer primary weapon

SC1 had simple ship upgrades in its strategy mode. So I do not see any reason why not allow it in the main game. It would enhance the experience and make melee combat more enjoyable for non-hardcode fans of super melee. Of course, it should not be part of Super Melee, due to its competitive nature.

And great new reveals. Also not sure if Jeff discussion was joke or serious.
I wouldn't worry about it. I don't know if I'm allowed to repeat anything Brad may or may not have said (even though you're clearly also a founder) but, uh, while trying to keep things close to my chest just in case - you wont have to worry about several of the things you're worrying about.
I was in the today's Skype chat. So I know about new changes to make start more *impactful*. Hope

But is it? Retelling almost same story does not have same impact as it had first time. In fact it makes it more flawed in my eyes. Hopefully I'm wrong. We will see.

When talking about 15 minute challenge for Star Control: Origins and looking into all release info of the game, I got a bit worried. It looks like game would repeat same mistakes as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, rehashing the same plot in slightly different form, making it less impactful for true fans of the series. Precursior modular ship = Earthling modular ship with precursor weapon Finding Fwiffo on "non-planet" to jump start the story = fiding Tywom on "non-planet

I would also point that there is similar issue with using 15.6" laptop with 1080p resolution. Fonts and incons need to large or scalable enough to be enjoyable at that size. There is also 4k 15.6" displays too.

One more thing to add about planet exploration. Please have a log of visited systems and landed planets. It wil really help managing the resources. Additionally make sure to keep balance of original game, where resource gathering is means to the end, not end of its own (modders can made sandbox mining crafting game, if they desire it). Endless grinding should be punishable just like in SC2, while exploring and advancing story be rewarded. That way you could have 200, 2
