I think one of the early SM alpha has something resembling random screenwrap. It was awful. Like some sort of teleporter after hitting arena borders. Nothing like an actual SC1/SC2 screenwrap that works nicely. I just hope that such implementation was not the one used to decide internally that screenwrap is bad, since did not feel in any way as SC1/SC2 screenwrap.

I always considered screenwrapping as sort of fake simulation of 3D space and ship getting on the other side of the attacker, similar to WW1 dogfights. Thus, making chased ship the chaser.
Menkmack Ship - strong attacks but slow speed makes it difficult to overcome other ships, feels underpowered overall
Totally agree. I think it is currently slowest ship in the game. The strategy for taking it down, is always go for main ship (which can't outrun you) and ignore reinforcements. And bombs are really bad weapon for slow ship. Currently we have 2 modes. Ranken and Unranked. With ranked being scores and restricted to official ships only. 1) I really think we are missing unranked option with official ships only. With current setup, what will happen is that hardcode SM players will play ranked, making it less accessible for beginners (exactly my experience with Starcraft, long time ago), while unranked will be hot mess with bunch of custom creations, unsutable for learning how to play

Who says that Arilou where not in Origin Earth either? They are, after all, in separate space. Of course, that does not mean that they are part of the story. In SC2, they intervened, since their considered Ur-Quan too big threat at that time. Otherwise, they would still stay hidden.
I do not think that alternate universes need to be alternate in such way. It's, after all, alternate not "parallel" universes. Still, nice read.
As far as I understand, Tywom has similar role to Fwiffo. And neither Fwiffo, nor any of the other Spathi are any more "serious", style-wise, then Tywom. So, non-issue, in my opinion...
Lifetime founders also get sountrack.
The swarm ship (not sure about the race owner), any chance it got inspired by similar ship from old Timewarp project?
Too much panic over ratio of representation of non-humanoids in the game. It's never about ratio, but about how good is specific alien design, humanoid or not..
I'm not sure how realtime would fit. If general idea is to have strategy layer and SM for battle resolution (which is the core of SC1 strategy mode), I cant see anything else then turn based that could fit.
As a true SC1/SC2 fan, I want E&I to succeed. But it need to be done after making SC:O successful. Not in parallel. No resources devoted to it, until SC:O is made good. Also, E&I would make or break, based on how good is SM combat.
For those not familiar, original strategy mode from SC1 had campaign editor. Thus, you could make your own scenarios.
It was the part of SC that added the depth to original melee.
I think the reason why current SM build was not easily visible to all Founders was because there was limited pool of Steam keys at the time (please correct me, if wrong). Thus, Discord link for Founders was "hidden" in one of the Founder Vault updates (not really hidden, but you would need to read whole update to actually see it). Then on Discord, there was a channel to verify user as Founder with option to apply for Camper (to get access to alpha builds). Then periodically, someone f
I was barely able to find any videos of SC1 strategy layer on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsWIYQfMpPw I'm still remembering campaign map where single Ur-Quan was pitted against multiple Snofixti.

Thanks for the information Brad.
Nice! How will E&I fit storywise to Origins?
^Thanks

What's up with again using Word format??? Not everybody is buying MS Office, paying Office 365 subscriptions, or god forbid using pirated version.
