When it comes to dogs my views can be summed up by this incident this weekend... I am at the store and I need a USB-C cable. They're $9.99. I call my wife and tell her "I dunno, $10 for a cable, can you just bring the one we have downstate with you?" However, before I had left the store I bought a $9.99 "Super Premium" dog bone. Priorities. Post your picture of your dog here. :) We have two dogs. First, the new puppy:

Hi gang! Sure thing here's what's happening the Star Control universe as Summer comes to an end. Re Consoles So the original plan was that we would team up with a partner for the console version since we have never released a console version. The lawsuit kind of messed with that and with the game now out a year we'll have to port it ourselves. We got the game onto Linux last Winter and are working on getting the Dev kits now though the team is tied up on so

Re console versions: The plan was to have a partner/publisher handle the console version. Unfortunately, the lawsuit kind of messed with that because no publisher wanted to get involved in that. With the game nearing its one-year birthday it would be hard to get a partner to participate. So we're in the process of getting the dev kits and looking at doing it ourselves and then when we do the sequel we'll release on all platforms at the same time.

Reply to Any news? in Star Control

Hi there! 1. We are doing the audio recordings presently for ER3. It's longer than the first two combined. 2. No announcements yet on console releases. 3. In pre-production. 4. No news to share on any future Ur-Quan universe stories/games. 5. I think Paul is on vacation overseas. We discussed some new storylines and aliens before he left and talking bees. 6. Villains of Star Control is due next month! :)

It's been an exciting Summer so far for fans of Star Control. Last month we re-released the classic trilogy on Steam, posted a major update to the engine to improve the visuals, and now we are busy working on chapter 3 of the Earth Rising expansion. For those of you who have played the game or will be buying the game in the near future, let's t
I hope that the next game follows more of a Carmack philosophy ( "when it's done" ) rather than a Nadella one ( "that enterprise release bricked your system? Software Assurance helps"). This game was released in an obvious beta condition that could have been more polished especially for main campaign issues. And before someone says Duke Nukem Forever or Star Citizen, Stardock and Frogboy don't have venture
Hi there, I, too am eager to see a version of Star Control for the PS4 - anything new on the topic yet? Do you have a date for the game to be released on that platform? Would be great. Thanks, Lutz
No news presently. We are focusing on getting the Earth Rises expansion completed. As soon as we have news, you can be sure we'll share it! :)

These transitions take years. One year we sent a survey on what people thought about digital distribution and most of our customers were very skeptical about the idea of buying a game and downloading it.
This is GREAT News! I love Star Control Origins and this looks like a great road map. This may not be a place to ask, will any of the legal issues impact or restrict other space based projects ( I am looking at you Gal Civ IV)? Thanks for the update.
They shouldn't affect any other projects. But it's hard to say given that Paul

Greetings! Spring is here and there's a lot to talk about. Let's talk about NDA stuff. Earth Rising Part 2 of Earth Rising will be coming out early next month (May 9 is the current date but it might get moved up to May 2 depending on QA testing). Part 3, The Syndicate, is well into development now and we expect that out this Summer. Part 4, Earth Rises, we anticipate hitting early Fall and will conclude the Star Control: Origins saga an
Damn, this is serious. I think that in such case you shall ask help of other developers (besides general public) and show them how destructive this path is. That besides Stardock they can be next. I do not think that this issue is obvious to them. As for the general public - most people think (like I did) that this endangers only SCO and no other game. I think that you, lawyers and PR people sh
Do you plans any games similar to SC? You have a gamer engine now, lots of experience so you can have something 100% your own (do not get me wrong with that remark) w/o any dicks trying to own you.
We already 100% own Star Control: Origins.
Anyways, as Sony etc. get a share of the sales revenue - why do they care that much? If it gets removed (I hope not), then it is not them who suffer.
They don't want to be sued.

Court cases can take many, many years to sort out. Right now, the case is in the "discovery" phase. We haven't even finished depositions yet. Then, the parties will file for summary judgments on various causes of action (these lawsuits are made up of many different elements). Most of what people talk about online about the case actually is not part of the case. The part that affects Star Control: Origins is that Paul and Fred are claiming to be co-creators
