Like Pyro said, Star Control fans have been waiting 25 years for a proper new Star Control game. And, keep in mind, it began development 5 years ago. I wish I had news I could publicly share on Sins of a Solar Empire today but right now the focus is on Star Control.
I have an Intel core i7, 16 GB RAM, and a GeForce 965m. Everything runs smoothly except cloudy planets. I turned off Anti-aliasing (and that helps) because turning it off did not cause screen tearing. Should I turn my graphics down from max? I had to do that for Ashes of the Singularity because my GeForce only has 2GB Video RAM but I was hoping that Star Control did not require so much because the Ashes terrai

The choppiness can also happen if Windows doesn't think it's the active window. Select something on-screen with your mouse and that should take care of it.
Not entirely certain where to post this on the document so posting it here instead. If you alt tab out of the game and leave it in the background for a bit, when you tab back in it will play incredibly choppy. Not sure what causes this, hopefully, it can get fixed, or will be fixed in later stages of the beta as the game gets more refined.
We read all of it, so no worries. For your issue, highly recommend runni

We really appreciate the feedback you guys are providing. weve read through every comment multiple times. We often don’t respond to each one as much of the reading occurs on tablets during design meetings. In effect, you guys are part of the dev team. Hopefully Beta 1A will give a taste at how fast we’re iterating on feedback. Thanks again!

The weekly Thursday build is expected to go up in about 16 hours from the time I'm posting. Lots of new stuff. Starbase UI update: So this has been redone from scratch along with the rest of the screens. Expositions starting to go in. &nbsp

Depending on how far you are off will decide how many crew you lose. Not a fan of it myself.
Don't do that. You will need to upgrade your lander before you can do that kind of thing.

I think there's some very useful feedback here. I have several thousand hours now in the game. In the home solar system I only travel to the planets I must and no more because those planets are pretty boring. Outside of Sol, there's lots and lots of things on planets.
I think the hitbox is an outline of the ship. Then the shots passing through some of the bits is confusing.
Which bits? The Greegrox are a special case but that would only affect them.

The current thought is that they should probably be made into a Scryve Scout so that it's more clear to the player that they're dealing with a minor ship.
A "spiritual sequel" is exactly what Stardock is going to release very soon. It's called Star Control: Origins . And yes, I am going to play it. However, I want to see a sequel to SC2 made too, so that I would finally see the old story continue as envisioned by its original creators. So I hope that Fred and Paul make the right decisions so that the sequel does get made.
I don't know if "spiritual successor"
I don't have much to add, but I wanted to thank you for the detailed explanation and lengthy discussion on the Star Control IP dispute. I had been following Reiche and Ford's posts occasionally, having been a huge fan of Star Control II when it was first released, but I wasn't aware the the other side of the story had been published in such detail until I asked about it on this forum and was directed to this thread. It's dismay
