Can not wait until 1.2 version is realease also wondering with it work with Distant Stars .99. Ugh..guess its back to City of Heroes in the meantime

2.31 is released:
- New research chains for interstellar & interplanetary phasetravel speed (from slow to fast). Additional defense, weapon boost (technology optimization), vehicle speed and science rate researches. Increased quantity of research levels with an emphasis on weaponry.
- Additional & reorganized planet & star types. Very diverse planets in price of development, size, profit.
- All starbases are movable & populated.
- Harder diplomacy.
- Balanced Pirates (irritating but not catastrophic). Reduced maximum pirate fleet power in quests (not to be the doomsday in multiplayer) and prolonged break time. Pirates can do interstellar phase jumps.
- New various maps with more realistic planetary systems.
- New Titan ship for every faction.
- Rescaled ship sizes (from tiny to giant).
- New weapon and ability effects.
- New types of militia.
- New ambient music.

Prolly gave the pirates a custom long range jump tech, without the need for any research stations, or a special artifact spawning on the pirate base.
I simply gave them the research, guys!

- Balanced Pirates (irritating but not catastrophic). Prolonged break time between pirate quests for suiting multiplayer conditions. Pirates can do interstellar phase jumps.

I had loaded Stars into Sins a long time back and it crashed often so I had never got a chance to really play it. I had re-loaded it just as they removed the 1.19 version from Impulse and again didn't get a chance to run it. When you put the new Diplomacy version up I installed it and have just been playing it the past day.
Perfect Mod!
- I absolutely love the planet and star model textures--just perfect.
- The music sets an entirely different mental mood and really works with a "thinking game style".
- I have never liked most research changes as they are usually "tacked on" and don't integrate well with the game but the new abilities in Stars blend perfectly with strategy and development.
- The planet balance and colonization/development requirements make this epic. Sins is like speed chess, Stars is like chess.
- I haven't actually got to the dreadnaughts yet but perfect touch. This isn't a game you finish in a single night (which I love).
This is the first mod I played solo that really has the feel of a classic strategy war game (which I grew up playing). Awesome job. It's going to be hard to go back to other mods now.
I have asked the developers about making the opacity/color of phase lanes adjustable specifically for this mod.
Love the clear UI. An awesome job with everything else as well. Still prefer DS's research line but that is a personal opinion.
Yeah--DS, Maelstrom and Stars all have some highly desirable features. Each one has areas where they stand out. Stars is the most like an actual board game of old though--hands down.
You should collaborate on a merged mod release--which would probably melt the game.
Having trouble downloading this...is there another place to download it? Every time I click the link I just get a black screen...
