You may want to check the string file. I tried using the in-game galaxy creator and came up with quite a few "String Not Found" in the planet type section.

If You mean using "Stars" planets in the Forge, You need transfer "GalaxyScenarioDef" file from "GameInfo" folder of the MOD to the root folder of the Forge.

As for missed strings...  yes, thanks... That will be fixed!

I actually tried fixing the missing strings, but it seemed to hit a limit, because after a certain number of objects the rest of the objects in the box would display StringNotFound regardless of whether I actually gave it a string or not. Saturn was the last planet to display a name. And you also had two of the planets being directed towards the IDS for the toxic planet.

I had followed the more info, then clicked on downloads, then on the 2.2, then clicked on the donload file and it downloaded in an hour for me

does anyone have this working on windows 7 x64? some of the textures wont work right for me. reinstalled the mod several times, reinstalled the game. hell i even installed windows 7 on a fresh hdd. still same problem tho, get giant white squares for some textures. the wormhole gate doesnt work, some textures wont work when a planet is under attack. this causes the game to CTD with no error report and anything.

Hi! I have Win 7 x 64.... but it seems the problem is in Video card... I've read somewhere in the forum about such issues for several cards... sorry for undetailed info ^_^ . I don't know the reason for such weird mod behavior!

I've thought of a few ways you can put the Vasari phase gate to use again, since every planet connects to one another within a star system:

1. Boost speed in phase space and/or charge up rate.

2. Allows to go from one planet to another even in different systems (don't think it's possible, though)

3. Allows to enter phase space anywhere within the planet's gravity well (not very realistic, though)

Your thoughts?

I also had been thinking about this...  :thumbsup:  And usually I've been envisioning increased rate in phase space, as charge up rate is 7 seconds - high enough.

2 - unfortunately impossible

3 - is interesting idea... I think, I'll examine it, thanks!

The advent have start problems,beside disciple spam,there are not other solutions..Radiance still sucks as a cap ship.It has bad abilities,why not fix that by either changing those abilities or increasing hp dps or so?

 

The vasari on the other hand are unique for their phase missiles cool no? they have good abilities in the END game.Not hte beginning.

Should i always run like a girl when i see tec spam with vasari? Are vasari meant to be much more expensive for no real buff.I say,buff them more but INCREASE ship supply cost.THat way you have less vasari but actually worhty units.

Give a reason to build Frigates,LRM still own in your mod,albeit less because of cap s being actual beasts instead of pussies.

1. Research cost

My aim was to make the development more slow and gradual. Allow to have "low technology era", small fleet operations  and make ship assuming some kind of a race. It's not perfectly realised as all capships are available in the beginning. 

There are 2 sides of the research process: resources & time.. so I've used both of them for my goal achieving.

Also researches ( with defence) can be the counteraction to huge fleet of non developed faction. Huge prices prevent from the progress in every field, You have to choose.

I's part of the global concept:

2. Strategy diversification

Not allowing to have everything everywhere at one time! (defence, fleet, researches, strong economy, developed planets). So You have to choose.

Also there are only 2 sides: time and cost....

PROBLEMS

As concerning the researches, it's impossible to compare abilities damage (constant) and firepower (modified by the researches) so... there should be the "handmade" balance. At the moment all the abilities damage in the mod increased on 20-30%.

I didn't quite understand Your ideas, please be more particular. BTW, You could realize some parts of Your ideas by yourself, modifying the parameters in files, it could be easier to discuss then.

I am now clarified about your direction of increasing research prices.Its a good idea to focus on one tech tree instead of over spamming every research possible in the end game.

However,I think that maybe you might increse their significance.I mean,huge costs for very low increase in damage,hjealth,shield?You could make them more significant to somehow ounter balance over building frigates,cruisers or caps.You see,units still cost the same,for the same ammount  money one would be able to build ,say two frigs,for the same cost.

See,my problem is that building ships still is significantly more important than research,at least that is what i think.

Anyway,its still up to you.

I also like the idea of phase jumping being able to be done inside a gravity well,I dont know how balanced that would be but it would really suit the vasari with phase gates.

I support that you incresed damage across abilities,makes them more useful,less cosmetic.

 

As for the initial quote. I want to be able to "Feel'the differences across the factions from the beginning.Kinda like in Starcraft.You have expensive but strong units-faction(vasari),you have cheap but strong in numbers units-faction(TEC),and you have micro intensive with powerful abilities  units-faction(advent).

Also,it could be unique if like TEC would have no shields appart from caps.It would make them the anathema of advent.

I also like your remnants sub faction for vasari.May be you could make sub factions for advent and tech as well. More agressive oriented less eco based or so.
