Your Stardock.net account is used here by the forums, in Stardock Central, on other Stardock sites, and also to manage your Metaverse characters.  "One account to rule them all."

Your account can have up to THREE characters tied to it.  Most people will have only 1 but this way, if you have multiple people in your family playing the game (my son plays for instance) they can use a character. 

If you've already pre-loaded, you should be able to go to the Metaverse and Manager Characters.  You will need your serial # to create another character.

If you have any problems, let us know.

Hrm, whenever I try to sumbit a game to the metaverse it says that the Serial Keys do not match. So, I created another character and made sure I typed it in correctly. And I got the same thing. So finally I tried to use the update Serial # option and typed in the Serial # again to make sure, and alas, I get the SAME error. What's wrong?


I recall some people with similar issues had this happen simply due to not having the GC2 serial properly registered in SDC (now WHY that would be the case, I have no idea...). If that's not your case, then you should contact [email protected].


I am getting this problem now. (Incorrect serial numbers). I don't know if this is related or not but when I go to manage my account->registrations in the Metaverse, I get different serial numbers every time. (None of which match the numbers I get when I retrieve my serial numbers with stardock central.)

Why would this be happening?

That part is normal. Please contact [email protected] about the posting issue, though.

HOW did you fix it. I'm getting the same problem and haven't figured it out. I'm using only alpha-numeric characters.

Does ANYONE look at this thread anymore, I have a couple of questions:

1. How do fix the "invalid characters" error?

2. What is a serial #. Where do I look for it?

yes Skandery people do still look at this thread. I can't help you with the "Invalid Characters" error but I can tell you that you can look up your serial number by opening up Stardock Central and going to Tools->Look Up Serial Number SDC will then email you your serial registration information to the email address that you provided when you registered.

Hi people, i have the following problem.
I've managed to create an empire on the Metaverse, and the serial i provided was accepted.
However, direct thereafter i tried to create a char, and got an Invalid serial error.
Could this be, that empire registration doesn't let me register a char on the same serial?

Nevermind, problem solved. Had to get a registration from my local publisher first. Post can be deleted.

Wont accept my serial number, got this game at Best Buy several years back and decided to create a character today. It tells me its invalid and goes into an endless processing data loop

Help please me or tell me where to go,  I have two empires. One is in a glitch and one is the one I don't want.

I like to have back "Blood Angels" Empire which is the one with my chacarter that is in.

How do I delete "What happen" Empire , yes that is what it says. Don't ask me when I open "Blood Angels" Empire it says "What happen" Empire .

I put a post up about this but no results yet.

Help I need

I have the retail version of Ultimate Edition. I was able to create one character using the S/N I got from the Registrations page in My Account. I cannot create any more characters using the S/N, so I am wondering if I only get one character with UE.

I can't imagine that to be the case. If it let you open an account then it doesn't know the difference between UE or anything else.

There is currently a problem logging in to the metaverse from within the game and that might be part of the problem even though it doesn't *appear* to preclude access to the "Manage Characters" page.

Anyway you should be able to go the the metaverse home page, http://metaverse.galciv2.com/ and from there use the "Account" pulldown tab to select  "Edit My Characters" which takes you to the "Manage Characters" page. From there I'm not quite sure what you'll see since I already have three characters and once created you can only edit them, not delete them.

Anyway here's a screenshot of my Manage Characters page, your's should be similar except that I suspect where mine says "Edit Player" you should have something like "Create Player". All you should have to do is to click that.

Thanks for taking the time to respond! I knew I'd like ToE! The problem I have is the fact that I only got one S/N when I registered UE. It worked fine for character 1, but it bounces when I try to use it for a second character. I'll wait uintil the login issue is resolved and try again. I can't use the character until that point, anyway.

I was a big Toshiro Mifune fan when I was younger, so I really like your second character!

If I recall correctly you only need your serial number to create your account which creates your "Username". In any case all anyone gets is one serial number, even if you bought the original Dread Lords and then the individual Dark Avatar and Twilight expansions (as I've done) there is no new serial number issued for the expansions. The expansions do have serial numbers but they're auto generated based on your original Death Lords serial number. UE has nothing to do with it.

Serial numbers are not needed to create a "character" which is more correctly a "metaverse character". You get three "characters" for one "user". Once you have a user the rest is automatic. Could you post your "Manage Characters" screen and perhaps we can tell what you need to do?

Just to be thorough, let me recap exactly what has transpired:

I bought the US box edition at BestBuy. My optiarc DV drive is screwy, so it will not read the installation disk. It is the drive’s fault, not the disk. I installed on an old computer, and registered via Impulse, using the S/N on the back cover of the manual. Since the game is not going to play on the old computer, I used this one to download and install via Impulse. I created the first metaverse character using my S/N, and it worked fine. The S/N ‘bounces” when trying to create a second character.

Impulse, incidentally, did a fine job of downloading and installing the Ultimate Edition, even though it is almost 2GB.

Hi,

since last night I can't log in or post a game in metaverse for some reason. I get a message that says the server returned an unrecognized response and to try again later. Is there something wrong with my game or are the servers temporary down? The firewall isn't blocking my connection and it happens for the first time to me.
