I agree with Static for the most part, except the modem updates. I tried to install Microsoft's third party Video Driver "Intel", Modem Driver and sound driver. And, my operating system crashed and I had to reinstall my whole system. Now, the only drivers I install are Internet Explorer or Operating system drivers. Synco, you can get one of those for about $20 US. Most of them come with a surge protector for modem and AC plugs built in. I wish I could remember the exact name of it, but they come with a master switch and individual switches for each component. Like I said, I just plug everything from my computer into it. Most of them have switches labelled; master, computer, monitor, printer, Aux1, Aux2, etc... They are thin boxes with front switch access and everything plugs into the back of them. Therefor

Your scanner has a adapter that plugs into the electricity right? Therefore, it has constant power. This is true for any Adapter AC type peripheral. Two ways around this. Either unplug it everyday or get a power strip. Your computer only shuts itself off, not all the other devices connected to it. I have master router(terminology?) that I place under my monitor and I shut off all my devices with one flip of a switch when I'm done 'puting. Maximumq, why don't you unzip to your desktop and see what is happening that way. Then if you get a folder there, open it and see if you have a subfolder or the images. If you have the images and the sysmetrix ini file, then drag the folder to your theme folder and then see if it shows in the skin chooser for sysmetrix. Also you may want to open your themes folder and see what you have in there. I bet that is your problem. Either your skins aren't being unzipped to the proper folder or

Sure, you can remaster a song and add effects and eq'ing. But the original ripped song cannot be better than the quality of the original. MP3 compression doesn't remaster or declick. Nor, does WMA compression. But, I too have improved the quality of CD songs with programs such as Cool edit Pro and Sound Forge. But, one has to start with the original which can only be as good as the original CD track.

PAxx, this isn't true. Artists get 30% of the revenue for a concert. And anywhere from 1,000 to 10,000+ seats in a arena. At $30-$50 dollars a seat, this is a good profit. Then, if you multiply this by 60-120+ yearly engagements, one has a good profit. I would love to put 3,000 US in my pocket for one night. There are a lot of fallacies here about speakers, MP3 technology and 128 bitrates. About the 128 bitrate theory. 128 sucks? Hmm, have you actually listened to the difference on the original CD and the ripped 128 version? I notice the same blips(clicks) on both versions. Of course, I sometimes clean them up with a declicking program myself. Still, if the imperfections exist on the original CD, one can't possibly improve it by recording at a higher bit rate. Personally, I think it is a waste of time modifying someones sysmetrix skin. They are simple to create once you understand the coding. Maybe you should use the knowledge and ideas to create a new one and then you won't need permission. No problems here at all. But, I'm a registered user. Still, when I cleaned my cache, and I went to Wincustomize and I had the same problem. So, I closed it and reopened it and I logged on first with my registered password account. No problems. Everything works, all downloads and previews.

I agree, that would be a good idea. Maybe have a selection dock on another side. And, when selected it would just change the dock theme automatically. Or maybe even have the ability to add docks to any side that you aren't using. But, I think there is a limitation in windows regarding docks.

I used Aston and Alt Desktop for awhile. The problem I had was that it was a shell replacement. It is similar to litestep in that regard. Windows itself is not that stable. Then you add a secondary company and it gets worse. Aston replaces/changes the windows shell. It crashed repeatly on me and I had to constantly reboot to switch between the windows shell and the Aston shell. Object Desktop/Windowsblinds/DesktopX uses the Windows Shell. Therefore, it doesn't add additional problems for the win
