It's on the lower right. Upper left is some kind of church (can't remember the name).

If you put planets directly on the map and not only the stars, will they stay at the same place or rotate around their stars? (if the star is é square diameter, the planet has exactly 12 squares to move around the star...)

I'd rather have just about anything else anyway.
That's why I bought a high end (at the time) laptop with a 32M video card . My previous one had 2 or 4M and it could take hours to move in a game with barely renderable graphics.
When you say: >>Or more typically some laptop with a ridiculously low end video card. It's like hey, go get an ATI card or Geforce. $40 to $90 and you'll be able to keep your computer current for another few years. Would you elaborate and explain me how even $100 can get me a new video card on a laptop where the thing is actually welded on the motherboard? (That being said, my own computer is a laptop with an ATI card and the game runs fine.)<b
A reason why I like 2D... I still can't use galciv map editor with the latest directX. Is my driver too old? Maybe, but there's none better I can find. I've got a laptop, and can't change the graphics card (though NVidia has proposals that'd make it possible if accepted by the industry, namely by ATI...). I don't think you can mod in 3D as well as you can in 2D because it takes more time to work a 3D model than to draw a sketch. You may not have to
I tend to win electoral college quite easily and almost always lose the popular vote by a lot. I once managed to win clearly with less money and less policital capital than the opponent (doing speeches to raise the issues that would harm him)...
Please note that there is also natural gas and plants (biomass). Burning wood releases in the air CO2 that the plants pumped from the air, so if you plant trees you get a net effect of 0. Burning wood for energy is not realistic, but production of energy out of biomass is something that hasn't been researched a lot. There could be some hope in funding such research more. Since you metnionned France, France produces most of its electricity through n
I'll comment a bit on some suggestions: (a strategy game should be played over days ideally, not hours) I'd rather keep it this way, play in hours, not days. About the VP: VP's definitely should be able to do something. They currently increase awareness a little bit and cost money/stamina to move... A consultant is way better. Debates could be a good thing.
I have always wanted a negative spell like Change Terrain to make opponent's terrain worse.
In addition to call of the void, there is the raise volcano spell and the one which transforms the whole world into a nest of volcanoes (except your country). So there already are spells that destroy opponent terrain.
Great news, Frogboy. Just don't mess with the spells ;)
Having a game that runs fast with better ai. About settlers: I think I could kill someone who would make MoM2 without settlers. The villages that try to grow into a city and sometimes fail (it'll teach you for playing dark elves) were great. I'd rather keep the 9 units limit. Make sure the ai gets out of its walls when attacked by ranged units. Increase the power of shields against regular missiles. I agree with the proposal of various ranges for different weapons (less for sli
Myrror and Arcanus beware here we come again... (where did I put my hammerhands lately?)
Thanks for the reactivity. I didn't check the web for a week and when I come back you did that. Thanks a lot.
Dominions 2 is very very good but it's very different from MoM in the sense you don't build up an empire. In fact, by the end of the game, the world is usually depopulated (particularly if Ermor is around).
And does anyone think it would be worth translating the (unreadable) pdf manual into a html or even plain txt file? Or know how to do it? (I still have to find out how to exit the game without killing it forcefully from the outside...)
The metaverse was used to retrieve data so the coders would update the ai accordingly. Neural nets for a game like galciv would be very hard to train. Backgammon has almost no rule in comparison, and there are very little choices to be made every turn.
The point is different races required different strategies. Gnolls were good for initial conquest, and then you could use summoning spells for instance or heroes to mop up the map. Slingers tend to require some enchantments to boost them a bit (make them invisible for example). Paladins need flying, etc. Did you manage to do something interesting with orcs and beastmen? I like beastmen but their units are mostly crap until you get magicians and minotairs (at least for myrran units).
I can't get the tutorials to work either.
Sys requirements weren't what I thought of, but indeed that's interesting. However, you can never know if a game will run on your particular graphics card until you try, so I don't really trust system reqs. I have lower than required working, and better than required not working; thus I don't trust these figures too much. I'd like to see these pieces of info: Single/Multiplayer availability, persistent online world (read MMORPG), metaverse scro
Make all races attractive if not balanced. Gnolls weren't very attractive for lack of interesting units in the late game. Wolf riders are fun to start with, but lack power long term. In comparison, slingers become stronger as you can field more of them and as you learn enchantments to make them even tougher. Beastmen would really require some beefing up. Manticores were crap, centaurs were crap, minotaurs weren't up to par with paladins or hammerhands. In MP there is one thing which could pr
I launched Stardock Central and was happy to see many new games available for download. My problem is it's very hard to see which game is what. I have to click the game name, wait a bit, read the information text, and hope I find a good description here. But the description is far from enough for me. (I can download and try, but I'd rather not since it can be very long.) For instance the Disciples I
I posted over there (http://totalgaming.stardock.com/forums.asp?MID=5&AID=21863) but there doesn't seem to be a lot of traffic over there (and the text display of that forum is ugly). I'm very glad that new games are available. I've already been spending a week and a half playing another nice fantasy TBS game, and now I'm downloading disciples II... Won't be doing much escpet playing these days... but it would really be cool if Stardock Central showed what kind of game each game is (read the
