Stardock Central Games Description

I launched Stardock Central and was happy to see many new games available for download.
My problem is it's very hard to see which game is what. I have to click the game name, wait a bit, read the information text, and hope I find a good description here.
But the description is far from enough for me. (I can download and try, but I'd rather not since it can be very long.) For instance the Disciples II text is the same useless overview available on their website. It's utterly useless because I do not know what disciples is, so it gives me 0 information about what the game is.
It would be a good idea to add a column/text or something precising at least what kind of game this is. You could say 'Space Turn Based Strategy', 'Political Simulation', 'Real Time Strategy', whatever... but put it clearly near the name of the game so we don't have to guess. For instance, I don't like RTS but love TBS games. I had to look around quite a bit to see that Disciples looks like a TBS game. Other games have a better description text, but I think a 'category/genre' column in the main games panel would really help now there are many games.
-Glad that drengin/totalgaming seems to be taking off. Can't wait for MoM2 (or Elemental).-

This is a reasonable request...what other info should be readilly available? Multiplayer Availability? Minimum System Requirements?

If you look at the description for Political Machine, we're already displaying the Sys. Requirements. Would that sort of simple layout be good enough?

Sys requirements weren't what I thought of, but indeed that's interesting. However, you can never know if a game will run on your particular graphics card until you try, so I don't really trust system reqs. I have lower than required working, and better than required not working; thus I don't trust these figures too much.
I'd like to see these pieces of info:
Single/Multiplayer availability, persistent online world (read MMORPG), metaverse scroing system(?), genre (TBS/RTS/...), flavour (fantasy, sci-Fi, ...)

OK, this should be fixed by the end of the day. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for the reactivity. I didn't check the web for a week and when I come back you did that. Thanks a lot.

Instead of just having Disk Space requirements for installing the game, how about also showing Disk Space requirements WHILE installing the game. I wasted a whole day downloading only to find out that I needed at least enough space for the .sdc and also the files it extracted

Second that

For a fix, you might try to set the temp directory to a bigger disk in SDC, copy the sdc file there and push the install button again

Not strictly on topic, but sorta: I had to reinstall SDCentral recently because 2.00.294 didn't want to log in properly, and things got a little messy. Now, since I did a total wipe and reinstall, including registry keys, SDCentral is no longer aware of what games I have installed on my machine (that is, I have Galciv from way back, the expansion recently acquired and also TCM), so it no longer does version checking. Is there any way I can bring SDCenrtal up to scratch w.r.t. what games I have installed? I do seem to believe that it actually used to do that automatically some time back ?!?

kind regards, and tia -Peter

Not to be overly critical because I definitely agree with you that a genre description, and overall more in-depth game descriptions are definitely a good idea, but at the same time if you're interested in a game I would suggest also checking out other resources. You can look up all the scores it's ever gotten in reviews at GameRankings, get reviews from GameSpot, or Avault, or a dozen other game sites...

These sorts of things will not only tell you if the game is turn based, but also get you some opinions on whether it's any good.
