Not a fan of too much crafting. I don't want to keep spending my time trying to develop tech when I have science geeks at the starbase to do that. I do believe we shoule be able to capture and reverse engineer alien tech.

I honestly would like to implement a ship capture ability. Make it available later on in the game. This will open new tech trees for advancements to player ships. Capture a ship and bring it back to base to be reverse engineered or use it as part of your fleet without the benefit of reverse engineering. This would bring out some great capabilities and vulnerabilities for ships. A captures ship has a monster hellborne type cannon capable to crushing smaller vessels however

I believe the AI should adjust based off previous interactions and player ship level. Combat should be a constant challenge without being overwhelming. The same trick shouldn't work on every encounter of the same alien group. They should adjust attacks based on how many times they get beaten by the player. This keeps the player on his/her toes and prevents exploits from being used constantly.

I would rather have system wear and tear. It's realistic to have systems become not as efficient and requiring service or repair based on constant use and abuse. I think you should be able to overdrive your systems at the expense of wear and tear and fuel. I know it's a bit like Starflight in the aspects of need minerals for repairs but I always wished for that to be implemented in SC. Mining for minerals just to fuel and upgrade kinda sucks.

The Nitrous Engine is a wise choice, graphics wise it can allow developers to import their graphics into it with very little trouble. Massively scaled battles is not likely and I would be disappointed if it came to fruition. With the advent of planet fall I see this engine as a good choice if your dealing with atmospheric effects.

No the characters were goofy in their own right. That can be attributed to species differences. I remind you of the "Great Insult". However in the aspects of Newtonian physics and planetary physical attributes, I believe that the designers did a great job keeping it close to realistic without making it a burden like the 3000AD series of games or even the original Frontier Elite. I give you Planet Bob! [img]http://s19.postimg

I understand the wanting to shy away from humanoids. However I would be remiss in my duties if I didn't state I really like Syreens. Honestly I think we should have a few of them in the game for balance and cohesiveness.

Timed quests have their place. I don't think they should be a game ender. Having less forces or less resources making it more difficult to complete is understandable. The probes frankly sucked and the mission set and part of the story was best served as a side quest. While I agree a bit with Kavik on not making battles too hard. I'm also of the opinion that, "Hey buddy, Space is a rough place to be." So if there could be a middle ground chosen in there it would work ou

I believe that Earth should be in world conflict. A group of scientists in a effort to escape the world war begin the design of the first Earth Cruiser. The Arilou Lalee'lay arrive in the mist of the war and capture the earth leadership. The discuss impending doom as they have tried to hide "Their Children" from the eyes of the malevolent Dynarri. But due to the massive battles on earth they have caught their attention and now they must prepare for the future. The Arilou gi

Personally I'm not a fan of the look. SC 2 and (ahem) 3 had cartoonish elements, they kept with the more scientific/realistic approach to planet appearance. I really like it that way. The original Frontier Elite had a great planet fall ability. I like Spore but its goofy and I don't see SC goofy in that aspect.

Fetch and FedEx missions are not a bad way to make some alternate cash. I think they should be side missions and not critical to the plot line development except that doing the mission successfully help with a species' cooperation later in the game. They may remember what you did for their cousin Blork so they are more malleable for your needs or to help you when you run out of fuel or get into a scrap. Using them as a filler sucks but used right can make the game better.
