Honestly, I have enjoyed what I have seen. It appears most of what we have seen are place markers for the game and something for the game engine to work with. I'm stoked either way. I would say no matter what you put out and its' current state, there will be criticism and praise. That what you have us here for. At least you will have an idea of the direction the founders are looking at. Thanks for sharing the devs point of view, I appreciate everything you s

It's sad it won't be NASA that puts the first person on Mars. The country's dying space program will have to go privatized in order to survive. Nobody looks up at the stars anymore. They are too busy looking down googling about them.
In my opinion,it's not a stretch in the least to have underwater exploration. I think that technology needs to be gained in order to do so. Strictly from a maneuvering standpoint. Some water world race finally reaches space, you do them some favors, they give you tech for a reward. This makes it goal oriented. It would make water worlds fun to explorer and some wicked good plot lines can be added further on down the line. Honestly besides making the lander a little more sluggish
I gotta admit, we need more cowbell!
You missed the point completely and you have danced around the issue at hand rationalizing it all the way. By quoting me, you lumped me in with the "horribly incorrect" critics you so aptly point out. That is what I take issue with. Again I could care less what your opinion is. For the most part I don't regard most posts quoting me unless I feel there has been a shot taken at me. I took it as such and I responded.

I like playing old games with those graphics and get a really hyped when someone does a remake with new graphics, but grasping at nostalgia with 8

Very stoked. Sorry for my absence, family tragedy had taken priority for that last month. 1. Video of game play: Nice start so far. not sure I like the planet features being so visible and HUGE on approach and in orbit. The mushrooms had to be 10000 ft tall! 2. Melee: it will amuse me until the game comes out, but out of the 5 sub games, I like alien questing, exploring, and ship building the most. melee is not on the top of my list. 3. If you think about it, until we see some in game footage and alpha builds it wont generate much fan fair besides the die hard SC fans. Concept art and cool music doesn't sell games. Its a shame that there was no tech demo at E3. Did Stardock even represent there? it's too early in development yet. when there is something playable it will change.
I would call it spirited discussion with lucid points to a consensual end.
Do it how ever you want. Just keep a top down POV availible for the purists and their like.
Drill Sergeant funny enough I found myself 13 yrs later saying the same thing to my trainees in the same barracks and same company I was in when I was in basic training.

In the words of George C. Scott, "Rommel you magnificent bastard, I read your book!" Nice update! I agree whole heartedly that planet exploration will gain much greatness with a updated interface. This is a wonderful time as technology and programming can really bring out some of the best aspects of the game that previous versions just couldn't do. The alternate universe is a safe way to get your perspective across without contaminating the previous incarnations. W
I think Stardock should keep doing what they are doing. They don't seem to be going into the financial crapper. People know that Stardock puts out quality products period. They don't hype because their products speak for themselves. Everything from window blinds to games. They will make it and the customers will come.
