Have you checked for Dnarri? Errrr... too late you are already under their mind control....

I'm sure the AI had a little bit more going than that. It probably also had engagement circles, shooting conditions, and evasion tactics. I remember how the Druuge always tried to keep as much distance as possible away. And they could do so because their weapons have a very long range. So most likely it will follow a certain set of rules: 1) If enemy faces you (weapon line of sight) and is within X range then run-away/evade and
Interesting.... There is AD in this website for Oxide's Star Swarm Test which uses the Nitrous Engine. In the description it further more SAYS the following: " The Nitrous engine is already in use for two games currently in production: an unannounced title from Oxide Games and Stardock’s Star Control reboot. Nitrous is also available for licensing to interested game developers. " <s
Comic relief characters in an otherwise serious game about the fight between slavery, genocide, and freedom. With censored scenes of violence, concubines, and harems.
Humans are so conceited in thinking WE resemble you... Humanoids? No you are Ariloloid. You are Android. You are nothing but an errant DNA from the precursors and you dare lay claim on 2 legs, 2 arms, fingers, toes, a head, eyes, mouth, and nose? Just because something is intelligent and has legs because it has to move, it has arms because it needs to use tools, and a head because it needs to have a brain to be intelligent, and eyes to see the world, an
One of the reasons I played Space Rangers was because it was said to be similar to Star Control. It definitely is nothing like Star Control and storyline wise may be a bit flat. But the mechanics wasn't that bad. The puzzle based and story based minigames was the most interesting part for me. Combat minigames become boring after a while. Still it does have its good few points that remain endearing.
Random events is fine as long as it is believable (whatever that would mean in a game like SC). In some strategy games (I think Master of Magic was one of them). You had events occurring depending on what year it was. That is to say. For example it is the year of the rabid Rabbit. All Leporidae have a 5% chance to become "rabid" where strength and agility is increased by 50% but they consume twice as much more food...... <
You could also try "Space Rangers" or "Star Wolves" for MMOs you can try "Star Sonata". But I would recommend trying "Space Rangers" first. It has very fun and interesting minigames (can sometimes get repetitive). It would be nice if SCF had such minigames.... it makes for a good break from time to time.
Chemical corrosion should be more potent were you have an atmosphere that is conductive to corrosion. After all chemical corrosion is a chemical reaction that may need the presence of oxygen or some other reactor. Space could not have the necessary conditions to promote chemical reactions of the corrosive kind. Also space is cold... more precisely devoid of heat..... so any "chemicals" would be frozen??? Or may lack the necessary energy for the chemical
SD probably feels they have to reinvent the wheel. If they used almost the same art as GALCIV there could be many reviews calling Star Control Foundation (That is what I am naming this game) a half-assed attempt that is only recycling SD material. There is a good chance they want to avoid such reviews.
A smaller map is better for 1v1. Well yes it would be better for 1v1 because there are only 2 players. But what is a smaller map? A dagger is better at close-quarter combat than a long sword. A long sword is better at close-quarter combat than a halberd. If you like using fast ships with powerful short range weapons (the Zoq-Fot-Piq Stinger comes to mind...) then obviously you would prefer to play in smaller maps with no wr
Smaller map won't work with supermelee without wrap-around. If they take away wrap-around then maps will have to be very big else slow ships will be at a disadvantage as they will be cornered. Thinking about it as chess with the opponent having a bare king and you have a queen and a pawn. The King is not fast enough to escape the queen and pawn and you get trapped in a corner.
Both of you have a point for polls.
Think about it. There is a poll. It is sent to everyone. If you care about the issue at hand, great! You will get valid information as they actually care about the matter at hand. The problem arises when you force people to participate. People who don't care tend to pick somewhat at random, and inaccurately. "I don't really care, so ill pick that one!" Tends to happen a
2 energy bars is an illusion. If you change very action you take into time. Then you will realise that you can only do so many things sequentially and that be it one battery or 2 it will still be the same amount of time you spend. In your example of a mine laying ship with fullpower gauge enabled gun you cannot really do both at the same time even with 2 energy bars. Mine-laying usually done while running away from the enemy or in preparation to fight the enemy
I know!!!! 1. Star Control: Foundation (SCF) 2. Star Control: League of Founders (SC LOF) 3. Star Control: Founders Forum (SC FF) Named after US! The founders club!!!! I rather prefer using Star Control: Foundation as it is also a tribute to Isaac Asimov and his Foundation series. But also it is my hope that this will become a NEW foundation for future series and games of Star Control that can capture the flavor of
'd be loathe to see a huge timer flash up on the screen with "Time till everything dies" written on it, but perhaps more clues in conversations, maybe a report saying something like "Wow, the utwig got massacred, but reports are saying they killed a whole lot of Kohr-Ah as well, this should hinder their war effort!". I suppose I'm saying I like my immersion.
The last time I played was quite a whi
Hmmm..... It might be called Star Control Reboot afterall..... Look at the power button of your computer or mac. It will look like a " U " with an " l " on top. Turn that 90 degrees clockwise. Now look at the very top of this page where it says Star Control. Notice how the 'ontrol' of Control is centred into the C, with the C exaggerated and large. Well then it looks like Star C
Well if we talk of old classics I fondly remember Kingdom of Kroz.
Also mentioning Team Fortress you can also note that Borderlands has a cartoony feel to it and it rather suits the game very well and gives it a classy feel.
Hello, There seems to be much discussion on Star Control regarding the following concepts: 1. Different difficulty modes. 2. Crafting. 3. Modding as in item customization. 3. Drops and Loot. 4. Artwork and direction. 5. Battles, Fleet and otherwise. 6. Gaming concepts such as heroes/leaders/units whatever. Of course nowadays many games are multi-genre (many try and fail though). Howev
Higher Rewards for Higher Difficulty seems reasonable. Even if it is only to get a Steam badge. What I think is that people who want to enjoy the game for the story need not play hardcore or whatever. The game in itself in normal (or story mode) should be engaging in itself and be focused on the story and adventure. So then what to put in hardcore? Example... Well hardcore could be where you turn on the micromanageme
Quest based crafting isn't really crafting as then fixing the Ultron can be considered as crafting lol .

Crafting if any should add to the game. But how can you implement crafting to a game like SC2 without stopping or limiting gameplay because you have to farm (although the planet lander and collecting resources is farming in a sense)? The funniest aliens would be aliens based on the characteristics and personalities of actual people. Imagine an alien race like "Trump". That would be hilarious. It would be like the Druuge and Melnorme combined, with a sprinkle of angry Pkunk, and shaken not stirred please, and then put into an Umgah body. And don't forget to add the funny hairdos. Then you have Hillary, already considered to be an Android by most people.... get that essence
For DLCs I could imagine an "alternate reality pack". Where the game plays as normal but somewhere in the middle of the game there is an interdimensional invasion from the ones you cannot UNSEE and you have to fight them at the same time as the original baddies (or you momentarily become allies with your enemy to fight the interdimensional aliens), of which when the interdimensional aliens are defeated the game ends with the original enemy becoming part of the alliance or something. O
About the music it would be awesome if Stardock could get either (or both) of the following to compose something for Star Control 2. Nobuo Uematsu - His works for FF series are just awesome and I think he has mastered the grand scale fantasy music genre. Hans Zimmer - Interstellar has shown us just how awesome Hans Zimmer is when it comes to heart moving Galactic themes. Now it would be too much to ask them to make something on the s
