Thanks for your reply. I am a seasoned player of Sins, as you may have noted from the above, and as you may also have noted I was playing on normal setting. How do you account for the anomalies I experienced, let alone the consistent impact of the enemy each time 2hrs 20m into the game when it devastates everything? Why would a save game produce a different scenario when I come to play it? I have been unable to complete any game on Rebellion since I began to play it a year ago.

I have played Trinity with my share of wins and losses, but Rebellion is a different matter. Each time I play Rebellion 2hrs and 20 mins into the game, the enemy produces undefeatable odds against my superior troops and development and anomalies occur I cannot account for. Even with the massive troops and ships I had, I made no significant dent in the armor of the enemy. This happens every time. Recently I have been playing TEC defensive v Advent(single player) on normal setti
Thanks for your replies. i personally didn't think the unvalidated file was important and Yarlen seems to confirm it. I reinstalled the game with the file still outstanding and have begun another game on the same settings to see what the outcome might be. It may take a while before I can post a replay.
I came back to Rebellion on Steam after a year and still had it installed. I previously had the Trinity edition, but uninstalled it. A year ago when playing Rebellion I had my share of losses and wins on normal setting, but this time there seems to be a big problem in gameplay. A few times orders were executed that I never gave (they were suicidal). Each time I play (on small map) after about two hours into the game and in a strong position, the enemy invades and wipes out everything within a
I have just tried to complete a single player game for the second time and, after four hours, the game decides to cheat on a grand scale. I was on default, random settings. I was playing as a TEC Loyalist with one team against four other AI's and after my team mate decided to wage war against me after all other players were defeated, the game stopped production of my Titan until the foundry was destroyed, I was unable to colonize a planet with a colony scout, the Novalith Cannons

I have not seen something similar in the TEC arsenal.
GoaFan77: Thanks for your useful info. I get annoyed when the game introduces conditions of play in the late game that cannot be anticipated, as you might try to do in a 'strategy' game. According to the Trinity manual I am unlikely to survive with the Kostura Cannon in play? I also noticed it has disabled planetary shield production on the target planet. Is there any counter to this enormous threat, apart from trying to take out the weapon on the planet? It is unlikely the latter can
I am playing 1v1 TEC Loyalist v Vasari. Vasari introduced an 'experimental weapon' and when it first hit one of my planets it took out my research on the Ogrev and Kodiak. These heavy weapons were already in play. Is this what is supposed to happen? I can find nothing in the Rebellion manual on these super weapons. Can someone help? Thanks

It is exasperating when you achieve a dominant posi
Congrats. Any advice I could use?
OKAY I will try that soon. I needed the experience of AI first to learn the game.
I need more experience of the game --- if only I had the time! SOAS, like most RTS games is a scissors, rock and paper game where scissors can cut rock, not a strategy game as such when playing the AI.

They can spawn capitals from nowhere if they have phase gates in the well.[/quote] No, in fact I was playing TEC v TEC (random). One big weakness I have is still not knowing the other factions weaknesses and strengths in order to counter them if possible. The AI game will punish you severely if you do not do what it expects or wants you to do. For example, when playing against two other f
The autorecording files show nothing after the 25 May when I downloaded the Rebellion Beta on Steam. (The current game is about four days old.) I still have the relevant in-game saves which I have been watching. Does anyone know how I can record these onto file and, if so, I can upload to Gamefront. By the way, after watching the game the statistics showed a massive advantage to the AI on each category contrary to the in-game statistics after a normal save which gave me a modest superiority o
Thanks for your interest. The autorecording single player has no record since 25 May when the beta version of Rebellion was downloaded to Steam. If so I can upload to Gamefront. Thanks Pat_22_ is quite correct. After watching the replays the statistics showed an enormous advantage
If anyone is interested or doubts cheating takes place on a large scale on normal difficulty, I can upload one recording, if they give me the details on how to do this and where. Replays are selective in what they show. In the first replay it showed a Capital ship's movements, but in subsequent replays it did not. In the second save, which I can upload as an example of cheating, five Capital ships are produced from nowhere in 10 secs on Orpheus. The adjacent planet, Hesperia
Seleuceia: My mistake. I did not change the save type and now have the recordings. Exarch42: I have just tried to continue the ongoing game I have mentioned above (Gaius Crescent) and it has proved impossible to continue. The rival faction invaded a planet with seven capital ships on which I had a large fleet of strong forces maxed out with shield upgrades. I knew I would need more forces so, on the planet adjacent to it, which I occupied, I lined up a large fleet to send to the invaded planet in support, but the game actually stopped producing the forces. I watched as my o
GoaFan77: I'm still whining about the AI cheats and, yes, we had a discussion about this a few weeks ago, but nothing you said, or the others, disproved the numerous examples I gave of AI cheating on any level of difficulty. I don't want to repeat that discussion, but in the example above the three capital ships turned up in my gravity well instantly the moment I landed on the otherwise empty, but resourceful, planet. I am a circumspect player and, using my scout, it detected
Thanks for your reply. The replay mode was not on, I checked. Have now switched it on. I am still playing the same game and went back to a saved game. It will not record from a saved game, of course, but I am interested in how this game plays out. The game is defeating every attempt I make to destroy his planets moving towards his strongholds. I moved a massive fleet onto an empty planet and, lo and behold, five capital ships turn up in a second! Moving in a different direction well a
I am sorry but did not have replay mode on. This, or something similar, occurs often in previous editions and Rebellion has made it even cruder. There does not seem to be a true matching between easy and hard and seems to switch arbitrarily between each no matter what setting is on, particularly when playing on maps 5 or above. In addition, easy can be too easy and hard too hard making the AI single player mode almost defunct. This is now a multiplayer game. We have discussed this before, so
I am in the middle of a game against the AI on normal setting 1v1, TEC vTEC. When about to take a planet suddenly three capital ships appear from nowhere. For them to reach the planet they would have had to pass through my lines, which they did not and the nearest rival home planet was three neutral planets away? On another planet I had a large fleet that wasted any capital ships with a small supporting fleet that threatened the planet, yet when the planet was threatened, this time wi

I have just been playing the beta 3, a single player game ('centrifuge') as TEC Loyalist on normal and am not sure if these are bugs or obvious cheats. One of the rival faction's capital ship could flit anywhere without passing through my lines, the only routes available. It just emerged from my gravity well. One resource belonging to the AI could not be destroyed, despite having the appropriate units, not only allowing the rival to keep the crystal but also maintaining its cultur
Thanks for that. I'll have a look.
