is this actually true? if you sell all your 'accumulated' points it does not affect your influence radius and starts to build again? And that the influence points are used in the UP and not your overal sphere of influence? Is anyone absolutely sure of this or could stardock confirm the algorythm used please.

if its shipping to stores 21-2 then its gold a fair bit before that - so when will digital download of the full version be available for us pre-payers who have bought the download~?
It looks amazing - and quite a few new features in the late gamma compared to us beta players - how can i ever play beta now? how can i not play beta with 22 days to release AAARRRGGGG! p.s. will teh downloadable version ship sooner than the physical copy - he hopes ......
well for what its worth posting bugs on Beta5, who knows they may not exist in late gamma - here goes: I have a worrying complete lock up since the last few days. There was a minor prog upgrade (0.8.10??) and a big MMpatch and last 2 datys my game has totallly locked up - cursor still works but game is totally jammed and to make it worse I cant ctr-alt-delete or alt-tab and have to reeboot system to regain control of system. Its h
Its the BS Galactica! I cant wait! Does that interface stuff at the top also look a bot different?
Playing Beta 0.8x, something I have oft felt was wrong ws the ease of puying some majr advanced tech in bulk from minor races. Most of my tech advances seem to come from doing the easy stuff well (making money) , and then buying tech cheap and in bulk from minor races. I wonder if the main AI does this as well? This, to me seems to be a bit of an easy option and devalues good players who (unlike me) may gain an advantage over the AI with prudent investments in getting their
i get that too all the time
I played beta5 again last night to have a 'fresh' play and to see what some of the new graphics elements looked like that you are dripping into teh open beta5 version (why is that by the way?) it was great fun indeed. I have a good instinct on what will be going into the Gamma testing (I gamma tested on GC1 you may recall) but to be fair I havent had as much time to test this time, joined late and have therefore not got access this time. My gut feel is thi sgame is going to be AWESOME. I have p
very cool, I love the stuff about the reactive ai, that is quite new isn't it? I'm excited about that.
#15 by Diplomat Vinco Saturday, January 14, 2006 7:14:54 PM @steevodevo... The point is simply that there may be things unchanged from the public versions that are uncaught as of yet. Of course there will be Vinco, I was just concerned that you get masses of people reporting bugs in a
Cari? non 0.9 peeps as well? whats the point?
I got a multi media update, but the game is still at beta 5 - oh well, one can but try.
pah, bring on the final build but give us pre-pay guys and galls (how many? 20, 30?) access to the Gamma as a treat but NOT the bug feedback forum so that we can enjoy the gamma as a bit orf a reward - be flexible and magnanamous! If we choose to chat about, pro's and con's bugs etc on your forum thro 'unofficial channels' then just ignore us, its not like there are so many of us that we could 'dis' the game is it? plus everyone here is a
so what we are saying is that the gamma release is a limited beta to a select group - if yes - i comprehend, do I understand why - not really. Guess the rest of us pre-payers, who have offered our support and (in many cases) did the same for GalCiv1 - including in my case being mentioned in special thanks on the box - will have to await release. Enjoy the gamma comrades.
we could do with a clarification couldn't we? After I went from 0.81 to 0.9 and then back to 0.81 ( ) Later on last noght I was then offered a MM update which brings me a lovely (if slightly jerky) opening video) but havng played the 'now' 0.81 last night I cant honestly say I spotted anything different. I am told by zoomba that the ghost upate was simply an XML error, but I certainly got a MM update so something is going on!
ta zoomba,
HMM I UPDATED MINE TO 0.9X A and then foolishly 'updated it again to 0.81 and 0.9x was available again! To try and clear things up I exited and went back in and only 0.81 was now available I am soo sad, did I get a chance to see 0.9 by mistake which I have now squandered boo-hoo. Can anyone who did not re-overwrite back to 0.8 tell me whats new in 0.9?
Just to be clear Brad - are we saying we don't get to play with any more improved de-bugged versions of BalCiv2 now until it is relesed I beleive in Feb06?
the biggest issue to fleet combat to me is that each ship is attacked one at a time,.......
Buck, dong 'top down' and zoomed out looks like the old battles. however I think they look superb and I enjoy them, I feel they add to the game, Why? - well for me I like to analyse the weaknesses and strengths during the combat and i learn a lot 0- in GC 1 i simply would not have been arsedto do this. Just the pause to enjoy and study the battle allows my brain to consider this analysis process. when we gonna get a loo at the next version
I feel I am missing some ability to compare designs, often I like to see if it is worth an upgrade from time to time as my tech evolves, but there aren't really any good tools to compare design benefits, other than hovering over component by component choices (by the way the pop up's there are borked arent they?).
it would be nice to have an option to switch of minor races.
does anyone get a HUGE list of ships - including all the AI ships sometimes when they start a game? Well generally, I have this when starting a new game from an existing game, or when doing CTRL+N after having played few turns ah best nt to do that then thanks
Just a couple of suggestions here: 1) Damage should be taken accross all ships in a fleet encounter not one at a time shouldnt it? 2) a Zoom on the full tech tree would be really helpful
