The November update should show up next Wednesday
Alverez
I remember when you posted that..was pretty funny. Almost made up for all the time I spent trying to find the cloaking device based on the screenshot from the sc2 box. Or was it in the manual? Wish I still had that stuff.
Quoting Alverez, reply 13 If the concern is for online multiplayer, why not have a match length option? Set your desired match length from a drop-down and queue up for the matchmaking service. Would you still get matched with players who did
Typically the faster ships should have a shorter range weapon, while slower ships should have a longer range, or at least a way to neutralize the speed difference (VUX). If the concern is for online multiplayer, why not have a match length option? Set your desired match length from a drop-down and queue up for the matchmaking service.
Time for some new chatter. Edit: 1) Points for the SC2 map. I used to spend hours looking at it. Amazing bit of art. Liking where you are going with the Origins map. 2) Good has won the day. I agree 100% with the outcome of the super melee wars. It keeps the feel of the original game. With all the changes that are being made it's nice to have something connecting this all back to the original series. 3) Ships are look
Anybody else getting real sick of the NMS circle-jerk? Can't read a single bit of game news without it coming up.
Yeah, I think all of us are pro dots and have been making the case for them for months. I can't think of a single post where somebody was in favour of the lifebar.
Quoting Alverez, reply 30 Quoting IBNobody, reply 15 ^ That is way more
Outside the opening and closing of SC2 was there even a reference to the Captain's gender? I can't think of any. Anyways, if they need to reference the gender of the captain then yeah make it so that the player can pick.
^ That is way more complicated than it needs to be. A point buy system and a maximum ship count is all that is needed. There wasn't anything wrong with SC2's system (aside from some balance issues that the 3rd party mod attempted to fix). Why are we trying to reinvent the wheel here? More importantly, why is SD spending money to reinvent the wheel?
Exactly this. There i
I thought there were like 500 founders? Where's all the planet names!! I don't think there could possibly be 500 names on that list, but maybe my eyes deceive me.
Mine got rejected last minute. Didn't have a chance to re-submit.
1) Dynamic. Matches what Star Control has always been and adds an extra level of strategy. 2) Solo. I don't want to watch my ships get derped by the AI. I want to be the one to derp them. 3) I'll say zoomed out, but this one is much tougher to say until we can see both in action and get an idea of which feels better.
Don't worry they are planning on selling more Founder packs.
some of those are way worse than ILMPAFY. Load of crap that they reject it on the last day so.
Quoting Alverez, reply 10 Is Local MultiPlayer A Feature Yet Hahahahaha... Yes, that would have been a good one. But you should have waited until they approved it!
From: Stardoc
Is Local MultiPlayer A Feature Yet
Guess I should get on submitting a name then. How about "ILMPAFY"
^ By the time Alpha comes out there will be no resources to change anything. But you're right, you could comment and criticize as much as you want then. Quoting Alverez, reply 71 ... and I agree it would look pretty cool the first time I see it.&
I absolutely agree with y'all. The cleaner UI the better. I never liked busy looking screens. But what I was about to post when the forum crapped out on me is this: When you "collide" with another alien ship for encounter dialog screen imagine screen getting slight static over it, camera zooms out making the star system screen an image on the built-in table "LCD" in one fluid motion and you appear to be in your contro
Quoting Volusianus, reply 53 I for one will be using the mouse to select dialogue, not keys [e digicons]:P[/e] . Me too. Because I don't trust keys. One wrong keypress, and I've just declared war.
That
^ you know at this stage of development nothing is final. Not even my MS Paint hack jobs. You mean playing area where you press 1, 2 or 3?.. [e digicons][/e]
I'll look forward to next months Hunam_ dev log. [e classic];)[/e] Personal preference really. I don't like when scenes are busier than they need to be. And I did say it looks nice.
This is what i posted half a year ago. It didn't resonate with anyone: Here's my take on that encounter dialog screen: 1. Don't make it fullscreen. It takes away from immersion. It makes me feel like I'm visiting their ship, being right infront of them during talks which wouldn't make sense if your encounter fella is hostile or their environment isn
Did anyone view the .MOV file?
Yes, trying to put a set of thoughts together. Right off the bat I don't like the little wiggle from the lander when leaving a planet. I also hope there will be a wooosh sound at that time. I don't really like the screen edges flashing when the enemy(?) ship is sighted. I need context for the transition to Truespace that I assume we are seeing at the start. I
Still upset about an offhanded joke, whatever. Anyways... UI - I like the direction this is headed. It's sharp and provides the information players need without being overwhelming. I get where the note about a planet having < 10% of a mineral is going, but think that % should be lowered. Assuming some minerals will be rare that is. Crew really needs to be dots though. It's a nod to the original games, and adds a sense of attachment to you
Absolutely that is why you guys are here. However if you see a development build with a planet full of mushrooms labeled Venus, it is safe to assume the obvious common sense is that isn't what we are planning on having Venus look like. That being said there will be a time when we show more final screens of the game that we will come out and say are looking pretty close to final. When that time comes I
