Sometimes the simple solution is the best. Add a couple checkboxes as suggested and done. Maybe consider a splitting Ranked into Ranked w/ Custom and Ranked base ships. That should keep things from being split up too much. 1) Unranked (filters for custom or no) 2) Ranked (base ships only) 3) Ranked (Custom ships allowed) Seems reasonable to me.
The previous screen wrap didn't wrap around to the far side of the battlefield like in SC2. If you hit the edge your ship was teleported to a seemingly random position behind the enemy ship in the smallest zoom range. It felt pretty bad. Even worse than the current tethering mechanic.
Well, how about putting the closes star/pair of stars/black hole in the middle of the arena as a source of gravity that will also determine arena bounds since the battling ships presumably will not reach the escape velocity using their "normal" (subspace) engines? They should lose more of their speed the farther they get away from the center (of gravity), effectively stopping to a halt at, say, the Lagrangian point. Additionally,
Currently no, but I think it's in the plans for future.
^ What Brad basically said in the voice chat is that it doesn't matter what we talk about here as long as it's not an absolute majority in an uproar about something unacceptable. And to be honest not everyone was discussing the Commandress back then. Even though she was changed from the concept pics that were posted in the vault, which by the way make her look less attractive, but more fitting IMO. Also, everything we see
Yeah, we brought this up..a lot recently. See the thread "solutions to screenwrap" for part of the discussion.
Pretty sure I'm on record as not liking the design of the commander right from the get go. The snowball started when you started swinging the axe at other races.
I'd guess that Brad's reasoning is "who gives a flip about a sequel to a 25 year old game?" The answer is #1 us (who already gave him money) and #2 nobody.
I do like her better in the photoshop above. Many of my complaints are still true, but the uniform change and removal of the rogue hair helps her look more serious.
Quoting , quoting post I want to be very clear on this: When Stardock acquired the Star Control rights from Atari/Accolade that includes a perpetual, unlimited license to the Star Control story, lore, aliens, characters, ships, etc. So yes, if we had wanted to, we could have h
BTW, next time someone asks why we haven't detected aliens, you can show them that image and smack them.
Anyone who doesn't understand that probably thinks screen wrap is confusing. [e digicons]:-"[/e] On a serious note..glad you are looking at the commander's neck. It might be non-trivial but leaving it would be a poor decision.
. While this won't cause any problems as long as the faster ship is allowed to go far enough away, it is going to feel/seem very strange to be at the end of the leash in the faster ship and all of a sudden feel like the enemy has you in a tractor beam and you can't go any farther.
This is exactly what happens now. And it doesn't just feel strange, it feels crappy. Having a big/slow Scryve ship being dr
1) good 2) ok 3) good change, planets are currently a non-factor 4) better than invisible walls 5) pretty easy actually. Asteroids in space are typically pretty far apart. [e digicons]O:)[/e] 6) YES!!! This makes me happy.
It's not even that invisible walls are video gamey..it's that they are lazy/poorly developed video gamey. At least draw a wall there you lazy bastards.
Invisible walls as the best solution? You must be joking. If that's the way things are going SD may as well offer me a refund right now. Terrible.
That's double what I get. You'll be fine.
Some of us had our planet names rejected at the last minute. Anyone seen IBN lately? Other than that we all got cake.
As one of the founders that was old enough to play SC1/2 when they were new...toss SC3 in the trash and pretend it didn't happen. Nobody will care, no feelings will be hurt (probably not even the people that worked on it). Failing that... "Star Control: The Ur-quan Masters 2" done.
Look at this guy posting like he has inside information.
We the other majority are fine with the concept. Speak for yourselves, don't just assume that you are the majority because your side is the loudest. I find the idea interesting. Currently I'm more concerned with SCO turning out well and will judge E&I when it's a relevant conversation to have.

edit- not worth it
People pay zero attention and don't engage, then bitch about not being involved.
