if u are getting any issue with any of my skin please rename the .curxptheme file into .zip, open it and edit the .ini file like the way i show u.. If you have Winzip installed, you do not have to rename the extension first. Just right click, Open With, choose Winzip. Edit the file, save and allow Winzip to update the file.
@ Yraq, Did that a bit ago!! Thanks for adding the info though...appreciate it. As far as the cursor themes go....re-editing the ini file worked. Testing the last issue....with the idea of Cursor XP having issues.. I looked into the ini file for the logonxp theme I created. It too suffered from the same spacing issue between the scripting sections. All issues solved!! Thanks again everyone for the help.
Unfortunately, the MSI update was to alleviate the problems with Windows update's service from using 100% of the CPU and yet doing nothing at the same time. It fixed the update service!

But, after following up on several of it's error code issues, turns out MS's newest MSI patch release hosed all the information from the Window's 3.1 installer. I have yet to test out LogonXP again, but it didn't come from opening the program and adding the logon screen, it came from double clicking the logonxp fil
Ok.... CursorXP, crashing when trying to use the cursor pack - Oxide. Can't use it if it's installed with the Theme Manager either. IconPackager 3.2, getting more and more of the SDCZip.dll "can't find" errors. Having to install the themes manually by creating their perspective folders under Stardock directory. LogonXP, getting "can't read ????.logonxp file", then proceeds to launch the Windows Installer for Quickbooks?? After installer is cancelled, LogonXP opens.<
Gotcha..... do the work in a folder, zip the folder instead of just adding the files to an archive!

I think ya missed the point. (see previous post saying "changed extension") The problem was with Winzip. Using Winzip alone to create the compressed archive created the "compression" error. Bootskin didn't recognize it. So....instead of using Winzip, I tried other archiving tools...and found that using Winrar, and checking "ZIP" instead of "RAR" as the file type...I could then change the extension and have Bootskin import the file. Found what the problem was. Bootskin was not accepting the zip file created by WinZip 11. I tested the following: Winzip 11: failed. Winrar 3.7 saved as rar file: changed extenstion: failed. 7Zip: changed extension: failed. Tried Winrar again, this time I chose to use the zip compression method naming instead of rar, Bootskin accepted it.
The problem is, they are bmp files. I'll give that a shot Cavan1.
In addition.....I took a look at the files in a usable bootskin, the bmp's are listed as bmp file (for file type) and the one I'm trying to use says bitmap image. Could that be what's causing the issue?
My bad....typo. Yeah, in PSP, I'm using, Image-Decrease Color Depth-16colors(4bit). The original image is a 800*600 gif file, resized to 640*480...then reduced in color depth, saved as a bmp. When I try to create the bootskin file, I'll first get that message, then I'll get some error saying the .ini file is corrupt. If I used a pre-made bootskin file, and just replace the main bitmap (alter the ini file to correct file name to match), then I just get the first "98" error. I'll give

If one OS can do all of it, but can be annoying from time to time, I'll probably deal with it's issues over an OS that can do some of them, but not all of them. By then I should have Vista No need to hyphenate or hide words QD...tell us what you really think. One quick question for the developers. Since MS's OSes have been giving great headache in dealing with icons...one in particular still comes to mind. Having a single account on the machine is not affected...however, having more than one account props up the problem of Windows always wanting to change icons whether at random, or when a user changes them...so that all accounts eventually end up using the same icon pack.
