There is no maybe about it; clearly it is my interpretation as I started my post out with the word "I". The same as the OP did. Surely Americans aren't opposed to dissenting views?! The original post was intended to inflame and was written from a very narrow, very obvious, very American perspective. That is not my opinion, it is a fact. It is just too bad this is deemed to be the appropriate place for it. I didn't come to Wincustomize for that type of content. I h

I love when Americans write in the inclusive manner of "our country" as though the entire internet audience consists of fellow Americans and the whole world cares about their views. Hare Krishna
For me, it is Richard Ashcroft, who sings for The Verve, and solo. Keys To The World is a great example of his work. http://richardashcroft.co.uk/ <img src="http://www.jessicabrownproductions.com/images/e_RS-ASHCROFT1.j
One last thought. My ASUS has something called "FancyStart" and it plays a changeable tone and changeable splash screen prior to loading Windows. Even disabled via msconfig, and removed from Startup folder, it still plays. It is possible that this process interferes with SP. Just a thought but there are 2 ASUS machines in this thread that have the same problem with SP.
I attempted to reinstall via Impulse. After downloading and extracting, Impulse reported the program would not install. I shut down Impulse in order to clear the repeating popup stating the install failed, and at the last second I saw a box saying install was successful. There were 3 themes in the appdata file, and I removed all but Stardock default. The files had no program association so I associated it to SP. I then ran SP and it failed. I then "opened" the theme from the ap
Lantec........ Mine is an ASUS too. Similar specs to yours. Model N51V. I too decided to not pursue getting SP to work because the unit is working so beautiffuly I simply didn't want to disturb it. General Type: Midsize Bundled OS: Windows (Vista) Display Scr
I also attempted to load SP via on my new Vista Home Premium (via Impulse) laptop and it would not run. I uninstalled and was waiting to see if something got ironed out in a future update. It installed fine and works on my Windows XP machine.
Thanks all. I guess there are the quick, and the dead!
I am a long time subscriber, yet Aero Frost wb does not show up in my Subscriber Resources. I understood that it was free to subscribers and that is where I would find it. Any assistance or recommendations appreciated. Thanks. Ichi.
My Aero Midnight (which I like and looks great) would not apply until I rebooted (Vista 32) and now it is good, and shows up in WB. I have to say the email icon seems like an odd choice.
I have two machines, one with XP and one with Vista. I am less interested in interface design because Stardock and others make it possible to have almost any interface I want. Stability of the system is paramount to me, and because of that reason, I won't be rushing out to buy another OS as soon as it is released, as I did with Vista. My Vista system is still not as stable as my XP, and they run pretty much the same applications, side-by-side. Demos created by professionals, under op
Preview comes up as "no skins to display" and skin seems to have also vanished from the Windowblinds and New galleries. Link provided above also appears to be dead. Perhaps a wraith at work?
When buying a graphics card, is there a balance to achieve between the computer and the card? For example does the processor speed, system cache, RAM etc. form part of the purchasing decision and in what way? In other words, can you spend a lot of money on a card and not be using its full potential due to system limitations? Thanks.
Thank you both. I cleared the xml data as suggested and yes, that fixed the Windowblinds update problem. I installed SDC and the only update it showed was Object Desktop Launchpad. I do not know why validating the registration via Impulse showed an update was required for other programs but I repeated that process and they still show as not being installed properly. As DesktopX is not working properly, and Impulse shows it is not installed properly, should
I wasn't aware that the Stardock button was active but having said that it did not indicate that any updates were due and it is set to server 1. Yes to version 1.01.155, and next to that (images:1.00.074)

The following applies to my Vista machine only. Seeing WB 6.1 was available, I opened Impulse. I have used it b4 to update products, and Impulse itself. No updates showed, so I used right click on each program to verify installation. It reports that ObjectDock +, Windowblinds, DesktopX and Rightclock are not installed correctly, and require updating. I have Object Desktop Ultimate. If Impulse is not reporting that there are required updates (and I know that f

Thank you. Rightclick was fixed by running the bat file. I'll keep it with my DWM bat file because DWM still won't load if I use Windowblinds. Widgets are OK because as you say they run individually but without DesktopX running on boot, will I have to load a Desktop or Object manually every time? It would be nice to have full functionality if possible, and that extends to WindowBlinds which when loaded, causes DWM to crash. I was hoping SP-1 or WB updates to fix that for me but it didn't. I know
Within the program itself, thanks. When experiencing trouble I then checked TweakVista to see if they got disabled somewhow and they weren't there at all, despite being checked via the program itself.
I purchased the new Object Desktop today. So far, I have been unable to get both RightClick and Desktop X to load on startup. Once they are manually loaded, they work fine. I am using Vista SP1, and when I look in TweakVista Startup options, the two programs are not there, despite having checked the autostart boxes. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, and have tried with User Account on and off. Any suggestions on how to get the programs to load on startup would be appreciated.
Thanks to both who offered help. I had failed to reboot when I enabled UAC. I have enabled and rebooted and all is well. Thanks again.
Thanks again. I realize Vad's expertise in this area, in fact I am using SD Desktop on my laptop, but I am reluctant to start running registry-changing commands I know little about based on that one thread. I intend to purchase the new Desktop X when it is released and I think I will wait until then before I do anything else. Assumedly if that registry change is required, Stardock will be making it via their product release. I do appreciate your suggestion though but my experience with
Thank you for the suggestion. My settings were already at that level. Some gadgets, such as K-Tek clock, do not even start, clicking the exe file does nothing. Others, such as Pirate clock, attempt to start and a message box pops up indicating the program has stopped working. I do not have DesktopX installed on this machine and have therefor not tried Widgets.
