WindowBlinds 11 Release Issue Report thread

With the WindowBlinds 11 release, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining WindowBlinds 11 

Object Desktop members can get the release from within Object Desktop Manager

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)
  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen
  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive services (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube) and links included in your post.  Images can be directly added.
  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

yea turns out that fix was short lived so I removed it from the per apps list and the only solution was to run/install old/new explorer

I did the sandbox thing no joy :S

Are you sure you are on the latest version of windowblinds? Make sure to go to your stardock account and download the latest version of WB11. Its should be version 11.0.3. This issue sounds like an older version of windowblinds installed.

I noticed a bug with taskbar progress bars. I was using Firefox downloading something and I noticed the button became super bright and transparent some what. I loaded up a windows 7 taskbar testing app and behold. It indeed errors on different button states. It messes up on Indeterminate, Error & Paused. Hopefully you guys can look into the issue. This is latest windows 11 22h2. Works fine on stock windows theme but breaks on any Windowblinds11 skin.

Ok thanks, for the info I'm trying to trouble shoot the search box arrow in explorer not working right for me. You have any issues in that regard?

@bachbeet are you running any custom DPI? (Settings App > Display > Scale & Layout > Scale)

Is the Scale value 100% or other value? This could cause some text distortions depending on the monitor.

Does you skins has a lot of custom fonts setup? I can't reproduce the issue here:

@bachbeet Also about the search box issue, make sure you're not adding too much empty space around the box, if you do, the arrow button will cover the box right edge, causing a issue similar to the one that you described.

Skins correctly here...I'd uninstall and clean any registry like WindowBlinds folder left overs then reboot and reinstall

That was a bug with start11, Make sure you are updated to latest start11. It should be v1.36

You can configure the search box on Edit Explorer / IE shell parts > Edit Explorer parts > Search field background

From there you can click in the "Painting" tab to see and set the margins.

Again, try to keep the minimum of empty space around the box as possible, same thing apply to the Address field section.
