WindowBlinds 11 Release Issue Report thread

With the WindowBlinds 11 release, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining WindowBlinds 11 

Object Desktop members can get the release from within Object Desktop Manager

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)
  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen
  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive services (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube) and links included in your post.  Images can be directly added.
  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

WindowBlinds 11 Changelog

WindowBlinds 11 1.0 is a culmination of many prior public releases.  This final release has the following changes since Public Beta 3

  • Fixes a problem with system tray icons vanishing sometimes on Win11 without Start11
  • Fixes an alignment issue with blur in menus with SKS11
  • Fixes black paint issue with tree arrows on first paint sometimes.
  • Adds auto dark mode to the drop-down from the main skins page

SkinStudio 11 Changelog

  • Fix Start10/11 margins etc being written correctly and adding light/dark text control (needs latest Start11 installed)

Known issues

While we appreciate all feedback, please remember that we offer no official support for beta \ preview \ developer channel versions of Windows. If you report issues while in any of those early release channels, you should not expect them to be addressed unless it still exists in a retail version of Windows.

Latest release won't skin store apps as I've reported numerous times even things like control panel and the windowblinds config won't skin, I tried numerous skins all the same problems and revo uninstaller wasn't fixed. Seems like beta 3 and latest release are the same app with same problems. I'm sticking with beta 1 only problems with it are revo uninstaller and winrar.

Weird, I am still getting a loss of my start button and flashing, just plain glitchyness ( I know great description.) of my taskbar. AmD software wont even open. Killing windowblinds or not loading windowblinds fixs it completely. 

This is on a Clean install , start11, windowsblinds, vlc and amd's software package are the only programs installed.

 

Works fine on my green machines though.

You MUST update your version of Start11 to the very latest.

You are the only one still reporting this, even other users in the other beta threads had responded saying it was not an issue for them anymore.

I'd suggest you purge both WB and Start11 (if you are using it) and then reinstall

Would it be too much to ask if you could run the purge files and reinstall again, since there is a new version of Windowblinds out today and as far as anyone knows, you are the only one experiencing this issue.

I solved the problem I went to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\WindowBlinds" and deleted the windowblinds folder I had to use unlockit to delete the folder but all seems to be ok except I can't get explorer to use my dark background I tried bmp png and tga none seemed to make a difference, and I ran the remove WB batch file 1st then unlockit. So all is well in the virtul world at last. :grin:  B)

A skin I made called Slick as I said the skin is working as I had to unlock the wb folderin C:\Program files (x86) and delete it and ran the batch file...everything is good to go, oh and revo uninstaller still wobbles back and forth on the screen

I saw the issue was pick up by Support internally. I believe they are looking into it. Sorry for not feeding back that info to you.

I went through the update process using object desktop and it still says BETA 3.

Please try this, uninstall WB11, reboot immediately, redownload the installer from your account. Reinstall WB11, reboot and retest it. Report back.

Finally the latest windowblinds is working only issue none of the explorer backgrounds work I tried numerous skins should the image be a bmp tga or png? it shows in sks but pressing apply no explorer background...also I got WB to settle down by unchecking all options in wb settings and advanced thnx for anyone that can help me with this and my Nvidia Geforce 1860 driver might be part of some of my problems latest driver
