Work on your PR, Stardock !

Once in a while Stardock gets bad publicity at Reddit.

#1: Supposedly CEO's porsche double parked at 'disabled' space: (I can't verify if it's his porshe)

#2:

It comes naturally for some people, but I guess others may need to specifically train it.

Could also be P-shopped. :D

If I had a car like that, I'd park it like that too. On the other hand, I would never(even if I was a billionaire) own a car like this because I'm not a vapid douche.

the first one eh.... thats some people for ya

the second I have never seen before and I regularly install and uninstall stardock stuff of impluse (including the fence thing)

Actually you are just by saying it about someone else, just because they own a nice car.>:(

LOLOL awesome pic!

I'm not going to talk about the car, seeing how  there is nothing to support who owns it, and the circumstances for parking like that are unknown.....however, the bit about the fences is most likely due the fact that it supposedly intergrates with the desktop and more or less has to be de-intergrated as opposed to just being uninstalled.

The spots are legally required but never used.  The pic was taken well after business hours (that blue truck is our maintenance guy who doesn't get here 'til 5PM or later, well after EOB)  In the whole time I've been with this company, the spots have never been occupied by someone actually needing them.

The second has been discussed on the thread on Digg.  The only way this would happen is if the user installed through Impulse and then removed Impulse, thus removing the installer/uninstaller.  Had they installed from the stand alone installer or left Impulse after installing, it would have never happened. And it does tell them how to fix it :)

You don't need a sweet car to do that! I park my 94 cutlass sierra in handicap spots and firelanes.

I don't get it?

Someone at Stardock doesn't care if handicapped people can't park.

See those blue lines? THAT is the space reserved for wheelchair access on the side of the car, and it's not obstructed at all. The wheelchair image is clearly visible on the RIGHT side of the blue lines, and not where the Porsche is... It seems to me it's just parked over 2 regular parking spaces?

Oh, and how do we know that the owner of the porsche is not handicapped? :P

EDIT: Oh, there's a blue line under the porsche too, I missed that at first.. Not that it matters, as there's quite obviously a spot for the handicapped to park free anyway. :)

Unlike honey, cross posting appears to attract "flies".  #:(

No, the space to the left is also a disabled slot. Not that I've ever seen anyone use them for their intended purpose - or at all.

I think You might have also missed the 2 signs......that's what I noticed  just before

I was about to say how do we know it's not a regular spot....

I wouldn't brag unless you're handicapped and just joking.  Otherwise you're probably the A hole that's always illegally using a space when I need one.  I know at 19 you are immortal, but believe me it doesn't last.  One day you'll want that spot.:annoyed:

all the fuss about a lazy park job

what should get fussed at is the fact that the federal courts that protect ADA laws are exempt from providing handicap access

Not the worst I've seen, I once saw someone park a truck and horse trailer covering 6 regular spots and four handicap spots at one time.

I've also seen legitimate handicap plates on a motorcycle. How's that work? o_O

No, what should scare you shitless is that (at least in Illinois) state employees are exempt from all transport regulations regarding hazmat. Most other people need a CDL with hazmat, gas cylinder, and about a doen other endorsements to move a cylinder full of highly toxic gas. One of our safety guys (lacking all those requirements) just threw it in his trunk and drove away.

Motorcyclist who broke their spine in aprevious crash and had a iron spine implanted to keep it straight.  You can get disability for that.

My thoughts, in no particular order:

1) That's a sweet building!  Is it rented, or does Stardock own it?  I didn't realize Stardock would need that much space!

2) The Stardock logo on the side looks really classy.

3)  Oh, that's a very, very nice looking Porsche.  I wonder how many miles it has on it?  Maybe I need to let frogboy win the next 3v3 matchup.

4)  Classic "I'm just running in to do one more thing and then rushing home for dinner" shot.

5)  People care this much?  There is a normal space available to his left!

6)  The best thing Brad can do is ignore this post.

7)  What idiot parked in the middle of the road to take a picture?

I met a couple with 'peg legs' - bike modified to accomodate

you can also get a wheelchair sidecar - basic box ramp built to hold your wheelchair - controls are on the wheelchair side - the bike basically becomes the sidecar - which can spruce up a boring ride - the 'rider' can flip around, lean back to relax and wave at people as they pass

I don't see the problem and I can legally use handicap parking. If the car is Brad's, he owns the building, parking lot, and the handicap space the car is parked in. Hell if he wants, he can legally park in the lobby.

I also have handicap plates on my motorcycle. There are many reasons for people to have handicap parking privliges other than the inability to use ones legs.

Unacceptable! Off with his head.

My thoughts exactly, it definitely looks as though someone was in a hurry!
