This is a maligned graphic mod I've been working on over the past year or so. I've rebuilt it quite a few times and am doing so again for the Entrenchment Expansion. I hope to actually finish it this time around.

 

I'm currently working on the TEC effects. Unfortunately this modding thing is still new to me, so its taking me a little while to turn out new particle effects. :annoyed:

Lost_Wld:Merge with 7 DEADLY SINS is nearly complete. And it looks AWESOME...By the way, I loved the way you have the Advent sieging BEFORE you just changed it, from your first youtube video. I liked the fancy glowing orbs of plasma raining down and then exploding electricty all over the planet.If you do change it, I would love to get my hands on what you did to make the plasma globes. I ave another use for them for a new race I am making. Actually I am resuurecting a race from STAR CONTROL, its the MYCON. Those orbs will be perfect for their primary weapon.BTW, can't wait for the next release. Just be sure to include what files you changed. That was a BIG help in merging.Keep up the good work.DANMAN

I have a newer video of the Advent siege. I've changed it a little bit based on some feedback.

Advent Siege Revisted

The next version of the mod should be done by this weekend. I have three days off so I'm spending all of them modding. I just have to mess with finer details like Advent muzzle and hit graphics, beam effects, their sieging, Desolator siege, TEC/Vasari LRM's, the Rapture, defense structures...
ok I still have a little bit to do but, I'm trying. ;p

P.S. The glowy orb you saw in the first video is still in the mod. It's just exclusive to the Revelation. :)

um, why is it 7min. long? the actual thing ends at about 50sec.

i liked it, but what's with the purple near the end of the explosion?

The video is 7min long because the song is and I didn't want to cut it. :)

I don't see any purple in the explosion though...

As the orb travels, it expands and then condenses. When it is condensing, it turns purple/pink for a second, then back to blue. Maybe make it a lighter shade of blue? the color it turned was a bit too different from the initial color. Maybe i'm missing something obvious though.

The second flash is now more inline with the end color. :)

Welp, I spent about 30+ hours over the weekend trying to finish this thing, but I couldn't quite get it done. :( I have work the next two days so I won't have too much time to mod. I'm still going to try to finish it ASAP though. I know Danman and Adama are waiting for the new version to merge it.

Version two will be done by next Wednesday. I just have to create new hit graphics for the TEC and edit the ones I made for the Advent and Vasari. I have a couple days off from work between now and then; so it shouldn't be too hard to complete. :)

I also am waiting for patch 1.05(Tuesday, I believe) to make sure it doesn't break anything in the mod. ;p The upcoming Malice change could fubar something. X-(

I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do in the next version of this mod. I'm still learning and the Particle Forge Tool may be out soon. :)

No more editing stuff and trying to figure out wth it did ftw! :D

Why is it that when I keep trying to use Bailknights + WLd I just get a minidump? Baliknight works just find but WLd just gives me a minidump both the standalone and the intergrated one.


edit: I found it out. You cant zip directly in to the mod folder. I unziped in a diffrent folder and moved, and it works great

I merged WLD's current version in. When the new one comes out, I'll put that in too. Should be pretty simple. When Bailknight releases his new version, I'll also include that, providing that his changes don't do something drastic.
Also, I now have to wait for the new Ironclad update too.

And here I thought I was almost done...

Yeah, it should be very simple to merge. I'm trying to keep track of all the files I've changed again. Plus all my new particle effects have a very obvious tag. :)

I thought I was close to "done" too :/ The Malice changes could fubar a few things for me... but better now than later. ;p

Hopefully their changes don't throw everything off to cause major problems. I am waiting for the new files before going further. No sense in making something that may not work in a few days.

The v1.05 release has been postponed for a few days, gang. Our apologies for the delay, but we want to get in some final testing before releasing it to the world.

Welp, WLd2 is going to be delayed until this patch is out.
It's just giving me extra time to finish my new graphics any who... and I needed it... ;)
I really hope everyone likes all of the changes I've left out of the previews. :d

i love this mod, it has cool effects that give a little bonus to the game

i have a question because i see that all the 'big modders' are posting here, and im doing some changes for my own so, if i change a ship's size, a capship's size to a cruiser's will the textures work with it because its black in the game?(and the other things are good)

No, you have to change the UV's too on the model, otherwise you will have no textures.

One question.

Does this increase the speed of missile projectiles? I installed it last night and found my missiles to be moving extremely fast, much more so than usual. Is it supposed to do that?

And...what would I do to fix this if I don't like it?

Wouldn't worry about it. They're slower in the WLd2.

Progress update:

I've learned a new trick with the particle files, but I have to go through all my particles again to use it. I'm also trying to create some new graphics with the Particle Forge. I'll be working my ass off to get this done ASAP. I'm already over 52 hours spent modding in the past seven days :/ I have about 30 things left on the to do list... each of which will take at least two hours.

Love that missle shot!
Yes, the particle forge is awesome! Finally!

As Bailknight said, be careful how many particles you assign per effect. The game has to load all these on startup.
