First mod; be kind :P

This is a maligned graphic mod I've been working on over the past year or so. I've rebuilt it quite a few times and am doing so again for the Entrenchment Expansion. I hope to actually finish it this time around.

 

I'm currently working on the TEC effects. Unfortunately this modding thing is still new to me, so its taking me a little while to turn out new particle effects. :annoyed:

Psh, Its on v 9.0 atm. ;)

TEC is almost done. I just need to finish the muzzle/hit/travel graphics for the new lasers and the new Marza Animation.

It's going a little slow right now due to the fact I'm in the middle of a six day stretch of work. I should have more days off next week though. I expect to get a lot done then.

It'll still be a little bit. I'm just fine tuning all the TEC effects right now to make sure they're not using too many particles.

The next race on the to do list is the Vasari. :)

Nope. I still have to redo all their weapon effects with the Particle Forge to reduce the number of particles in their animations. They were using way too many resulting in a noticeable slowdown.

Once again though, I have a few days off from work this week and should get a lot done. :D

Any plans to change Vasari Plasma waves? Because they're probably my least favorite looking projectile in the game.Yes actually. I'm trying to make them look like a green Tron disc Here was my first attempt and what is currently in

I'm still on the fence about it. :/
I'll to put together another version to see if it turns out better while using less particles. I'll keep the current one on the back-burner though.

I'm hoping to at least get the TEC finished and most of the Vasari effects conceptualized this week, but we'll see what happens.

so I just downloaded your mod on rapidshare. Which version will I have???

How does modding work exactly? I just bought the game and I also thought the weapon effects needed reworking, can someone help me here?:P

everything's working great so far! I love all the effects! The only minor complaint I would have is for the Vasari Marauder: The green beam doesn't seem to have any kind of impact effect on the ship it is fired upon. Besides this... great work!

All the impact effects have been fixed in the new version. :)
I'm working hard between shifts at work to finish it.
I truly hope the old version looks like utter crap when I release the new one.

lost_wld + bailknight idownloaded and installed your mod last night it runs trouble free and is a great improvement over the standard graphics can i say thanks gents your hard work is going to please a lot of people.
i have never before used a mod on any game that i own but after this exprience will try a few more thanks again guys keep the mods coming.

I haven't made a single release date I've given yet so, at the risk of owing Blizzard Entertainment a royalty fee...

When it's done.

Just know I'm putting all my free time into modding. :)

Hi guys. I wanted to show you all the new concept for the Marza siege animation. I haven't tried to polish it too much yet because I wanted some feedback first. The hit effect on the other hand is near final. I'll be seeing it in my sleep for awhile... X-(

Anywho, the basic concept is to have the Marza capture a loose asteroid and then slam it into the planet at high speed.

Personally, I like it, but I think you need to have more of an effect that sort of explains how the asteroid is grabbed. I don't know what you would use, but it just seems to be missing something having the asteroid come out of nowhere with no real explanation.
