'Destroyed Planets' is just one of those things the devs added in to mess with the players. You should see them laughing about it in the irc sometimes

Seriously though, it's going to be in the full version.

My hope, is that superweapons , turn normal earth like planets into either a lesser class planet ( desert, ice, volcanic ) or into a dead asteroid planet.

I believe the "destroyed planets" line refers to planets you've bombed back to the stone age, not actually "destroyed".

Ron is always correct...

Even on the MOO3 forums... I think he spends to much time on SINS... He is becoming a SINNER... pun intended.

Anyway, I think that might irritate the hell out of people, quick strikes on players planets leaving everything else around intact.. jump in loose a few ships and jump out with his planet bombed to hell. Killing his ability to keep his war machine going. Evil as it sounds, I love irritating people with little strikes that strikes right at the heart of their empire.

Sigh... I miss my old LAN starcraft games.

Anyway, back to pretending to work.

Krosov's now have the Fallout ability which definately improves the feasibility of strikes that hurt the enemy's economy without making it an all or nothing affair.

hmmm I haven't played the TEC at all in Beta 4, what is this fall out ability you speak of?

Heavy fallout make worlds attacked by krosovs regenerate slower for a time. I've never found it useful, as I prefer to destroy colonies outright when I attack. Also I find it clashes heavily with the rationalization that you only send administrators to the worlds teeming with life when you colonize.

Yes, its intensly frustrating to be "assassinated" by a couple of siege frigates.

You really should play TEC a little, in addition to fallout they've gotten a few other new abilities which are really cool.

The TEC superweapon can destroy colonies (the Novalith cannon). No one knows what the Vasari one or the Advent one do.

No offense to Ron but i don't think he is correct even though you said he is Blair. When you look at planets destroyed, no player ever has it so if it's just bombing the hell out of the planet then that isn't right. Unless you plan to put that feature in the full game , "Bomb the Hell out of the Planet" button.

Eeek you maybe right Kiernyc! I think that might be the old string we used for planets were bombed to death and is no longer used because planets aren't actually destroyed. I'd have to search the usage but either way there is no planet destruction.

Blair might be trying to hide something...

Let the speculations begin

Here's an idea. You could destroy planets, and thereby turn them into Asteroid fields with less slots and so forth.

Thats a WIBN... that isn't very nice... and we're way past feature lock.

Think about it -- do you really think the ability to turn planets into asteroid fields would be balanced in this game, given the (very) finite number of planets? On top of that, its too late to add anything -- only polish whats already released or is already being worked on.
