DG. The link at the top still goes to diplomats.thegalacticcore for the Diplomats Forum. Did Moose not set it up on thegalacticcore instead?

I finally got another game finished. It looks like with the score inflation that I'll be hard pressed to stay in top 250. And I lost my former Top 25 medal to boot.

Hail, Diplomats. Just shaking off the last binge and thought I'd stop in to say hello to the ancient, decrepit (but virile I'm sure) vets that actually remember me. And to those who've arrived since I fell into a tequila coma in the Special Forces Tavern back in the GC1 days, well met.

It's good to see a few of the old banners still flying.

Hi Ben... Good to have you drop by. I'm sure there's an old bottle of your favourite beverage over at the bar.

I found the forum! I win many internets! Now I just need to convince the Meta to take my games.

Well, back to the grind I guess. I'm on WoW holiday since I injured my hand, so I'm sticking to GCII since I can play one handed. Btw, having problems getting to the core. Is it down?

LW you know you have to create the game in the metaverse section. Click on Metaverse button not new game button from the main menu.

Maybe you have an old Diplomats/core link which can create problems

Molotov is closed by the way. The moose trashed the place in a rabbid snack attack. We moved your private stock of brews to area 61.

Howdy Littlewotts. Good to see you.

Yeah, I've been starting games via the Meta button. I'll start another today.

And a warm hello to you Mag!

You been using CTRL-N LW?

Here's a thread by Cari on the subject: https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=109142

Seems there's a problem with submitting to the 'vers if you use CRTL-N... sometimes.

Chipperoo:

I remember you John/Nat! Welcome to GCII. You are welcome to join our empire, we emphasize enjoyment of the game (this will help prevent MV burnout). Stay active here regardless of the empire you join and...(better yet) join us at the Galactic Core!

Hey man, I remember you too! Good to see ya man, it's always great seeing old friends. Thanks for the hello and everything, and it's great to hear that I don't have to submit in order to be a part of the clan. I am currently in another clan for another game (Battlefield 2) though, so I'm usually pretty busy keeping on top of the forums there. So, sorry that I can't chat more with you guys, but that's the reason I'm not here much. That is also why I have refrained from joining this clan, unfortunetly. But, you know how it is. And I'll try to stop by here whenever I can.

damoose:

ChosenOne... Welcome. You don't have to submit to join the group. Up to you. However, you decide... don't be a stranger.

Ah, I remember you as well damoose, you were the guy that was always talking about snacking, right? Ah, good times, good times. It's really funny though, because I eat all the time now too (I recently got into body-building, though I'm not like, hard-core-crazy-only-thing-I-do kind of bodybuilder), sometimes up to 7 or 8 times a day. So anyway, my thanks to you to for the warm-welcome, it's great to see so many familiar faces around here.

And to everyone, I'll try my best not to be a stranger, but I can't garuntee that because I'm seriously considering picking up Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. (And we all know how those kinds of games, including this one, can suck your time away. That is, if you have the time to give. LOL. )

Take care all!

Interesting... I think I've used ctrl-N at least once in every game I've played, and had no problems submitting with any of them (yet)!

Not sure how long I can resist the temptation either I don't suppose you can get some sort of surgery that means you never need to sleep again... ever! That's the only way I can see that I'd be able to survive with both games.

I know for certain that I don't play Gal Civ 2 as much as you because I've only basically played 10 minutes of a game (yes, sadly), but I know what you mean about not getting sleep. Except for me, it's BF2 and Oblivion. It's like, even when you're NOT playing it, you're still thinking about it or what you'll do next or what strategy you want to work on the next time you start playing again. It's terrible and wonderful at the same time.

WOOT finaly got a 15K game in.. Now just gotta wait for the points update

Well I finished a tech victory which actually was fairly hard. This was due to the fact that the last AI's planets were "flipping" and I had to make sure I didn't win a conquest victory before I finished last tech.
WTG! DG!

Moser... Yup.. Currently in the same situation... The tech victory is not one I'll do again. Way too long to play.
I've had two games miss the tech victory by the last tech before it flipped to a culture victory. Finally won a tech victory where I actually researched ALL the techs, not just the ones in the branch that take you to the victory. That was sweet.

Gaah, my machine can't handle a gigantic map with everything set to common, occasional seems to be the most I can do.
It slowed down to a crawl in midgame, waiting several minutes for the next turn is no fun at all - I had to abandon it.

Even worse: I probably won't have time to play the next three weeks.
My computer handled the gigantic map at challenging no problem. Now on suicidal, there is at least an extra 10 seconds delay. AI's thinking to much I assume.

Good morning Diplomats... another evening of destruction and mayhem. The Yor are finally gone, gone, gone. Now it's off to clean the death furnaces...

It's clear from your fluffy little white goody-goody icon that the furnaces won't have seen enough use Damoose - try throwing a few billion of your own citizens in there next time - there's nowhere near enough red icons in this thread.

e-stab, I can manage all common OK, but it dies if I try abundant everything - P4 3.2Ghz, 2Gb RAM, XFX Geforce 7800 GS Extreme - so I hate to think what you actually need (got to be a dual core CPU at least).

WOOT finaly got a 15K game in..

Nice one DG - I only managed 12K for my first game....

Any sign of Chip? Seems that we've reached another one of "those" post numbers...
