Much of the core of the Diplomats has moved to the Tyranny. Notably, Mumblefratz, DethAdder and Magnumaniac. I'm not aware of any currently active historical core Diplomats at the present time. I think an empire is fundamentally composed of the players who give it life more than the name. Switching from the Diplomats to the Tyranny at this point could be viewed as loyal rather than disloyal. I'd switch to the Tyranny myself were it not for a moral aversion to joining a self-avowed evil group.

This slightly troubled me as well but the evil part is really just part of the act. There's no one that I would consider evil, only those that pretend to be so that they can feel a bit less inhibited about letting the dark side that we all have occassionally peek through.

Hehe. Actually, the name doesn't come from evil per se. It's a partial quote from the movie "Pulp Fiction" where Samuel Jackson quotes a non-existent bible verse just before he kills someone. Something to do with the "Tyranny of evil men" doing some such thing. Kinda explains neilo's avatar as well.

I think it's more closely related to insanity than evil. (Which might explain some of our banter.) ;)

Well done Motti! I was wondering if anyone actually picked up on where the phrase "Tyranny of Evil" came from. Pulp Fiction being my favorite movie of all time it seemed appropriate.

"Ekekiel 25-17; The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and Tyranny of Evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will, shepards the weak through the valley of darkness, for his truly his brothers keeper and the finder of lost children. And i will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger Those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the lord....when i lay my vengeance upon thee."

Cue loud gun fire and the end of what i still think is one of the most mind blowing scenes ever filmed...pardon the pun. ;)

Kinda explains neilo's avatar as well.

Kinda explains neilo if ya think about it.... ;p

I've got a question about this empire, since you guys are called the Galactic Diplomats, does that al of your wins have to be political victories or something?

I thought Pulp Fiction was good but my favorite movie with Samuel L. Jackson is Snakes on a Plane.

Not at all, all victory types are equally welcome.

I dunno, I think my favorite movie with Samuel L. Jackson would be Jurassic Park.  Granted, I didn't even remember he was in that until I turned on the tv a half hour ago and was like "Sweet! Jurassic Park!!!", but still...

What's up with the Galactic Core? Has the site been abandoned?

It was working for me as recently as yesterday.  I assume it will be fixed pretty soon.

It was working this morning as well.  I wonder if Tech paid the domain fee, and if not, someone may have grabbed it with Spore using The Galactic Core as one of its key words

I have also lost the ability to get to the Core.  I hope it's not a domain issue, but it sure looks like it...

Wow, it takes the Core going down to get you guys to visit

I hope it's a temporary issue, I was just starting to get back into the battle game

If you hadn't looked Chip, Plexico needs to get 8 points for you to beat me this week in FF. Another close one :)

I did hear back from Technician, and he is looking into it.  He hadn't  found anything out yet.

Maybe that cute girl will increase enrollment in the Diplomats O:)

I'm pretty sure Tech is going to have to find a new domain, cyber squatters are a notoriously greedy lot.  I hope I'm wrong, but I haven't seen any popular site that lost it's name ever get it back.

Well, the site is back up, but I haven't heard, not has anyone else, what happened.

Just so you know, it was my fault but the core is back again.

What happened is I did not know that the domain was still is Drengin's name and it expired.

I got the domain and everything is back online..... The moose is still missing :(
