DethAdder, I noticed you are squeezing some decent points out of those large maps now...And still so modest! Yep, by the time Deth gets up to Suicidal gigantics, there is going to be some serious scoring going on (130K for a Crippling game is pretty damn good - you're not doing a lot wrong there) FC will probably have a few games ready to drop on us when

The Altarian AI is simply using it's superior intuition to sense your true desires. You really prefered war all along and just didn't realize it. Ah, so you're saying that this isn't a bug, because the leader of the Altarian Resistance is a female - makes perfect sense now, in an illogical sort of way. Simple work around though - don't be good!
And I got my third place metal back...For like the fourth or fifth time I know the feeling got to work on getting rid of one of the 3 "Former first place" medals I've earned. I'm quite certain that Syrrus K hasn't given up yet though - so maybe the reported demise of the Orcas is a little premature. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles
you mean the person who has been helping me out for a year isn't a real person Correct - Kryo is just a forum 'bot' that uses Frogboy's AI algorithms to determine the content of posts and decide which automated reply is the most suitable, from the list below: Download the latest version Update your drivers Post your debug.err, which can be found in... It's on the bug tracker It will be fixed in the next update etc...
Diplomats Rally! The HCH has passed the Orcas and are only 300k behind. This could get interesting. That should help then - 438K for a huge map, should be worth about 190K in meta terms.
1.5X was good other than the Metaverse issue. 1.5X2 was the devil. The changelog of 1.5X2 should have read: "Added lots of crash bugs and a terrible FOW bug." Frogboy was not pleased. Now that makes a refreshing change - how often do you see that from software developers in any field. I don't suppose you could take over as CEO of Microsoft?
Double click on th starbase and it will show you the detailed information you are looking for.
I really rather wish alternate strategies were as viable in this game, I really do. They used to be, in v1.2 and earlier. You could get planets over the "morale" hump and have 100 billion populations - then they nerfed morale and farms
Everyone likes a good conspiracy theory
BTW, Magnumaniac, those are some awesome scores on your games (puts my 'triumph' into perspective!). I only win on suicidal by generating maps with the fewest planets possible. Would you be willing to share your wisdom? Abundant everything is the key to the high scores. It means you end up in long, drawn out wars later on against AIs with 100+ planets. That 529K game had a total of 636 habitable planets in the galaxy. It's all about really micro
Yep, it's listed as a 1.50X game - that was the version with the cheat code bug in it I'm afraid.
The Germans invaded Poland in 2139? They might have done - were you around then to counter the claim?
So, N-1 is really Adolf then...
or a total racial ability of around +330%. Except that the planetary morale bonus due to native ability is now capped at +100% in DA, regardless of what your actual racial morale ability is. The ironic thing is that all the morale nerfing that has happened was to stop people running "unrealistic" tax rates (50%+) with huge populations in excess of 25 bill
Just checked with my game (DA 1.5x.59), where my race had 72% bonus in pop growth. A planet at 100% approval grow from 6.938B to 7.196B pop. That's 258M pop, very close to the wiki formula. If all bonuses are multiplied as suggested above, you would expect: base pop growth 100 million +100% for 100% approval = 200m +72% of 200m = 344m What you are getting is much, much closer to the effect if the bonuses are not multiplied, but
The wiki is referring to v1.1 of GC2. You are referring to v1.5.x of DA. Try it and see - when you've got a planet of 2.5 billion producing 500 million pop growth per turn (which may be possible if the fertility clinic bonus is applied after the cap), then let us know.
Here's how I figure it: Base population growth is 75 million (assuming you have 2.5B population already). Correct so far... 100% approval makes that 150 million. Still OK... Aphrodisiac, Xeno Medicine, + Fertility tech is a 70% bonus, making that 255 million. Here's where you went wrong - that 70% is 70% of the base growth (i.e. 52.5 million) gi
I'm not absolutely certain if the AI has elections, but I would expect it does (it would be unfair if it didn't). Yes they do, and even lose occasionally - you get a popup saying that has lost control of the senate, things are looking bad for the empire - or something like that.
Get a new wife!
Supposedly only affects gigantic maps - so I've started a huge game with .068. All OK so far.
Yep - it's simply that if an enemy ship starts it's turn in "Isolationist" space, it is limited to a max movement rate of 3, regardless of the ships normal speed. If it starts one parsec outside the area, it gets it's full movement capability for that turn (so yes, it is possible to do hit and run attacks).
Just thought I'd drop in with a bit of a KA-BOOM! for the diplos. I guess that answers the questions about the reduced economy in DA keeping the scores lower...
All hail the mighty Mumblefratz!!! Oh yeah, Mumble is the Galactic taxman - you can hear the citizens hiding their stash in mattresses as he walks by. Don't get disheartened by his numbers - you are doing just fine (but keep your reserve below the 20K mark). What Mumble calls a "good" economy, and what most others call it aren't exactly on the same pag
Increase the number of points custom races get (to 20/25). Let them spend racial points to get more points to spend on starting tech (so over the initial 200). Currently, you can make games easier by setting to play against all custom races, because they just don't cut it. Custom races already can't double up on bonuses (so can't get a +83% military production bonus like the Thalans can for instance), and they have less points overall than the stock races in total bonu
If you mean the solution to the problem of miners on automate wanting to cross a map instead of upgrading what's close to them, then your solution will almost always not work. Annoying, isn't it! I usually control them manually until I can build miners with high speed (15+), then spam them out from every planet so that every single asteroid has it's
