Yes both were pretty unexpected. Here is the link to the last save https://drive.google.com/file/d/19CO8PKuH4poUsxdoStYP28XIGBzfsz4j/view?usp=sharing So the defenses that don't engage happens ONLY with the ships from Insurgency (TEK rebels). I re-colonized Velimir (My barren planet near the sun) so you can see that. I never play with planet rotation, and nevertheless Xenia,

Hey guys, I really wanted to mention the new AI. Something happened that never happened before. In a game with Capital planet win condition, a nightmare AI, when started losing attacked my homeplanet with 3 nukes from sheitton of distance away, thus successfully annihilating me in a match. I'm impressed. I only wonder what ARES will bring. However during the same game, i encountered a pretty bad bug. If one PC player generates insurgents on a planet, your defenses are not

Hey Zabik thanks for your reply. I guess it's pretty clear that whenever you play you want to have a fresh somewhat different map. And creating it manually spoils all the surprise. For tournaments it would be ok but not for a casual game. I wouldn't even ask if I though it was something complicated. As it seems to me it's just setting or tweaking some parameters in the tool code. Besides i strongly believe I'm not the only one who would wish for this. I just think that i

this topic comes out of frustration with single player random generated maps. Brief overview, when you generate random maps the planets and connections between them are absolutely random. Which probably suits the good players out there who look for a challenge. The more planets are on the map the more chaotic it gets. Key planets with 5-6 lanes going to it from all sides ecc. Sometimes i need to restart the game 20+ times just not to have 5 lanes going to my homeplanet s

Hi Ramma thanks for taking time :) I guess you mean the loadout of the starbases items right? I mainly play Vasari, and sometimes TEK, rarely Advent (where I can't even comment much) Vasari has 2 viable setups : a) Purely Defensive base, example to hold a key planet 1- Armor I 2- Missiles unlock 3- Wave weapons unlock 4- Debris reintegration 5- Armor II 6- Armor III 7- P

I've been playing now since a long time, and I've came to a conclusion that star bases are quite underwhelming. They struggle to destroy fleets, and Im not even talking about advent base, which outputs barely any damage at all i bet a fleet of jaruns migrators would be able to take it out. Once i did a small test, I placed 4 starbases at a star, where they would need to stop reinforcements coming from one planet, guess what, with the rate of production of one human owned

Hey Neil sorry for the late reply wasn't around for a few days. So yes I thought you suggested to disable V-sync, so I did that and nothing changed. I actually solved the problem, i simply set a maximum of frames at 60 in the game settings and the power consumption dropped drastically. I was simply generating all the frames I could. Thanks for the advice, and sorry team Sins, it was my settings not game optimization.

not until you suggested, but still the same. Even just sitting at the start menu - fans at max, and temperature of GPU is 80% which is the max it usually reaches. As soon as you close the game fans drop immediately.

This is topic I wanted to raise already a lot of time ago. I have a very decent system, more than recommended specs. But as soon as you launch the game my fans go crazy, and don't stop for the whole time I'm playing the game. I'm playing on high settings. After so many patches, maybe we could start talking about the optimization? Would you need some data like what's being put under strain? It's about GPU. Which makes not much sense at the starting menu scr

I would actually say it would be cool to place one upgrade slot on the cruisers. I think when you have an enemy with 20 cruisers you already know what to expect. What if those cruisers have upgrades instead? Let's say 10 have armour/shields boost and the others weapons boost would be a lot cooler. 1 slot would be not enough to break balances but would add a lot to the game variety. <p style="fo

its a pity to see that non Vasari players often complain about some unique Vasari features asking for a nerf directly just because. My personal opinion is the following: almost every non directly damaging ability is a niche thing, which can be very powerful if used in that right moment. So here I would classify the abilities as weak, regular and OP. Also we would need to consider the total power of abilities for a ship For example the resurrect abil

This is a minor thing but still think worth reporting: When you play with an AI ally its very annoying they try to take the planets close to your homeworld. At the same time they might have literally next planet to their homeworld untouched but the planets next to your homeworld will be grabbed by AI. It breaks your development and doesn't help much theirs. For some reason they try to expand towards you as their ally when it should be towards the enemy.

1 Replies 4,724 Views

I would add more on the topic, in many games vs AI I played it seems like the default behaviour: the AI would never accept your alliance or even cease fire proposal, but they very often ally themselves against you. This doesn't look good especially when different races which shouldn't be friends by the lore ally themselves. And then they spam one of your planets all together with 2 or 3 fully upgraded fleets. That means even just hard difficulty may be very difficult to parry, when each AI on

I guess the rock/paper/scissors in this game is: Advent beats the TEK with the OP shields TEK beats Vasari with much stronger economy and sheer numbers Vasari beats Advent with phase missiles. At least this was true for Sins 1 So I don't find it strange at all for the capital ships to die with the shields still on. Because the whole point of the phase missiles is getting directly to the hull bypassing the shield. but as far as I saw the PD cruiser of Ad

then we need to nerf the Crusaders as well. Those destroy anything in seconds, and are tanky AF with some guardians around especially. I guess early game you counter them with basic frigates/corvettes, and later on with aircraft? I would note that you get Kanraks on the 2nd tier. So by that time you can have some counters available. I don't thing phase missiles should be nerfed as a standalone action. Vasari have no other means to destroy str

give this to Vasari and there will be nothing else in the galaxy to stop them :D @Gambit3689, thanks, indeed CTRL + right click is indeed what I needed. And it's great to have both options. ALT for focused fire and CtRL to attack entire group. I guess this feature is ok enough.

I totally agree, that once you've passed the mid game and survived its very easy to beat the AI. Now it's not easy to provide suggestions, because this definitely is caused by some mechanics AI uses and I can't say I perfectly understand them in Sins 2. For example in Sins 1 the problem was the upkeep. AI was going fast to 2000 and their income was dropping drastically once you captured some fat planets, so once you kill the main fleet they had a hard time to rebuild it.

I guess if you want to have more gates you can play Vasari.. otherwise you can put 3 gates on key planets and hope for the best. Plus if something so unique to one race becomes easily available it could break the game. Honestly, I'm even surprised you can buy them at all. Actually if we want to go even deeper : - you can buy phase gates from Vasari tree (very OP combining with other races) - You can get some minor perks for economy from TEK tree (far from being so stro

Well, it's a tough topic I can imagine, but I would like to address the auto targeting thing. A free tip for those don't know: if you select a group of your ships and let's say want to destroy those annoying kanraks or carriers giving trouble from far away, you can hold ALT and right click on the group of those in the UI (top right corner approximately). Your ships will attack that group one by one. And you save a thousand Shift+ clicks and a bunch of time. The problem i

Hey guys, thanks for your replies. Didn't want to reply something meaningless, and was waiting for playing with advents again. Which I finally did during the last couple of days. And my opinion changed drastically actually. My mistake was I approached them same as Advents from Sins1. In Sins 1 you could get away playing as Advent with AI relying mostly on firepower. Here you can't. Aside from Crusaders (which are devastating with no way out) all the other units are mediocre at b
